Without googling can you answer the following.

What childrens programme did David Jason appear in from the 60's
What character did he play and who was his adversary
What was the name of the band that played in the series

Possibly "Bonzo Dog Doo dah band" on it too as Neil Innes did a lot of Python songs later on

The only programme I can recall having a band in was The Monkees. Not so much
a band in it, but featuring a band.

Clearly not that one. ;)

Two correct answers so far.

Do Not Adjust your Set and Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band

Just need the character and adversary now :)

I seem to recall his adversary was a woman but that's all.

Correct. He wore a black bowler hat and grey mac. Well it looked grey because it was filmed in black and white.

And there's two clues in what I've just written to the name of his adversary.

OK after your success in that one here's another, again without go ogling.

Can you name the four members of the Monkees and which one rode an elephant as a kid in a black and white US TV series and what was it called?

Just spotted this so feel that I need to bring up a memory from when I was about 10 years old (1969 ish). I spent (wasted) time at Christmas on google / Youtube etc trying to find the TV programme that featured David Jason at about this time. It was a show which featured all sorts of amusing bits and pieces / a few humourous sketches. Not quite a Blue Peter or Magpie as they were more serious and longer lived than the show Im thinking of. What I remember is that David Jason (who was a relative unknown in those days) came to Burnley with the team and they planted a tree for some reason set into the pavement on St James Street which in those days was not pedestrianised. I think it was on the left hand side about 50 yards past the Burton building heading out towards Marks and Sparks. I remember it being featured in local press and then it was screened a few weeks later. I have asked people over the years but no-one can remember this happening. My partner thinks I'm loopy spending most of the evening trying to find something that happened over 50 years ago. Hoping some like minded person can help me on this matter. I seem to remember a tall guy with David Jason (could that be Jonathan Routh?). The name Denise Coffey also rings a bell but I maybe getting confused with a different show?

Was it Nice Time presented by Kenny Everet, they said they'd had a letter from the dogs of Burnley saying there were not enough trees so they planted one for them.
The tree had a small plate at the bottom, probably long gone now.

Well "cbx750" I think you solved for me a 50 year old mystery . Nice Time looks to be the programme I remember but no sign of David Jason so perhaps I remember him from one of the other shows mentioned above that were on at the same time. I definitely remember Jonathan Routh in the Burnley sketch. Glad you remember the "tree" and yes I think there was a plaque originally and like you say the tree now long gone.

Ridiculous that Ive just wasted another 28 mins 16 seconds of my life watching the link above.

Thanks
