Saying all the right things:

- wants Sean to be manager for the long term.
- funds will be available for transfers, faster
- Sean will not be "frustrated".
- Potential to look overseas for signings if they are right.
- Promise of better communication from club.
- Has ideas to improve the club including the ground - will take time to put these in place.
- Wants to improve the fan experience.
- Looking to expand the intake and quality in the academy

Good question - like the digital programmes and other things, not available to even those who have left their season ticket money with the club.

This will come at a cost to ST and matchday prices which will be when this MB goes into meltdown

Is behind a paywall the right place to be making a "promise of better communication from the club" from?

Not for me it isn't - I'm sure that is something he'll be looking into too.

Hopefully they'll upload it to their YouTube channel, but they can't give too much away for free or it isn't fair on CP subscribers.

I agree with most that his first press conference should have been free and hopefully this will be an area that is addressed for future major announcements.

There is the option for a 30 day trial for those who want to watch and then cancel.

This is the future. They will maximise revenue streams. There’s no point whinging about it. Either pay up
And watch, or don’t and don’t whinge.

It’s always surprising to me that the Athletic haven’t had a word with virtually every story they write copied and pasted on here for people to read free.

If you want better players, a better ground, better ticket office, removal of gambling ads..... then you’re going to have to pay your bit towards it. The money to deliver all of those has to come from somewhere.

For such a massive impact on all us Clarets this i believe should of been a free one and not just a ploy to sign fans to the Player subscription.

Yes having a premium paid for service is fine - it’s what most clubs do and we are not out of line from a pricing point of view either.

But that does not mean that communication cannot be a lot better from the club via free media or online outlets. You cannot hope to improve communications to your supporters if you are only going to reach a small minority of these....that makes zero sense.

There is also something pretty unique about the last 12 months and the number of supporters who have continued to pay for their season tickets with no product for what will have been 18 months by the end of all of this. That is a hell of a lot of goodwill and loyalty shown by thousands of supporters and yes some temporary free access to clarets player would have been something that could have helped reward fans for this.

If you've been following, it will be free for you in a few hours. If you really can't wait, then perhaps it is something you value and is worth paying for.

If Clarets Player doesn't have a window / unique content, then it isn't fair on the subscribers who do pay and I am not sure what worth it would have.

Yes, but not a massive impact by the end of today. If the interview is available in any form free later today then that seems perfectly reasonable.

Agreed. Paying gets you to listen to it earlier. Non payers can wait, maybe even a few days.

I certainly don't foresee a quiet window like normal based on this quote (as per Chris Boden):

Top priority: “Short term to stay in the PL and do a good job this window.”

Must agree with you. I don't pay so quite right that I have to wait to see it later. No problem with that at all.

Clarets player and season tickets are two entirely different issues and the money from each probably doesn’t even end up in the same budget pot.

I don’t subscribe but as the content will be free to everyone later today, I don’t see an issue here at all. Those paying for a service should of course be getting their monies worth and if that means early access to certain content, so be it.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about? Correct me if I am wrong but Clarets+ subscribers get Live content as part as their package. These are then uploaded for free later? What's the problem with that?

We all know about Sean's style of play. But we also know that if certain players are fit, he can work miracles with relatively limited players. It will be fascinating to see how this all plays out. The alternative was Sean leaving and us putting up the white flag and ending up mid table in the Championship again. I see this as our second chance to build something really special.

Get the fans back, improve the squad, let's go!

To save repetition, in response, what DandeClaret says above, is my stance on it.

If premium content (an interview with the owner) is available free then why should people pay for clarets player? It undermines their own product.

Can't see what the problem is, you pay for a product or wait just as you have the choice of free delivery 2-3 days or pay extra for next day delivery.
