Another game where Wood and Barnes have shown why they shouldn't be starting. This is shite.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
We never do though do we.
Year after year we put in a derisory performance against lower league opposition in the Cup before pulling our weight in a league game the following week. I can't help but feel it's a shoddy mentality and attitude which comes from the manager and coaching staff and it takes the p1ss.
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Atrocious stuff again in the cup. It’s not that we are not bothered we just haven’t been anywhere near good enough. Just like any other game in League One for them in fact probably easier as they are struggling in that.
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
One positive for me today is Robbie Brady looking sharp again
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
we get to see Mumbongo... shame no crowd for the song

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
I'll guarantee we won't play like this on Tuesday, The concern for me is this is pretty much our first XI, and we've been dreadful bar the first half hour, is it a mindset that the cups don't matter, because it happens too often just to be a coincidence now.

100% correct. The question is... why? Or how?Mrpotatohead wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 4:43 pmWe never do though do we.

Only one thing that explains it for me - the players don't want it. They don't want the domestic cups, they want to remain in the Premier League more than anything else.

This game should be a given win for us, but yet again with 10mins remaining we sit here biting our nails.
Come on Burnley.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
8 minutes to go, you are having a laugh
What are they supposed to do in that time.
Until SD learns that as well as changing personnel, you can actually change tactics, we will continue to struggle when chasing games.

Glennon did more in his first 60 seconds than Stephens has done all game.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Given we should be 3 up here, I can't get too excited about events. SD clearly using it as a run out for a few players and I would suggest no urgency instilled into the team over this fixture. Reckons he can get away with it without a paying crowd.

I thing the gAme plan was to get early goals then fetch the youngsters on to give some minutes. Unfortunately only one of those objectives has been achieved.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
do we practice passing during the week ?
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
we are never going to win the FA cup and with no gate revenues its best to preserve the health and fitness of the squad with fewer games to worry about
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Jack Cork MoM... oh dear - he played well, but I think Brady has had much more of a game than Cork did

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Sean regularly says that we try to win every game, yet takes off a seasoned striker and puts a young kid on. Why not take Stephens off who's done nowt all afternoon?
Says it all, Sean doesn't want the distraction of the cups and robs the fans, year in, year out.
