Post by huw.Y.WattfromWare » Mon Jan 11, 2021 3:34 pm

Now covid off.
Spurs have re-arranged their earlier covid off match with Fulham same day.

Hang on. So Villa don't mind fielding a team of kids in the FA Cup but are allowed to call off a Premier League game because they don't want to field the same kids? How's that allowed to happen?

Its also easier to rearrange a league game as opposed to a cup tie for obvious practical reasons

Maybe it’s the Premier League that aren’t allowing it.

Fielding a team of kids, may be seen to be giving and advantage to Spurs over other teams that they will be playing

Any of those reasons still doesn't make it right.

Surely COVID cases should be treat as an injury.

Given the size of our available squad, at any given time, perhaps all our matches qualify!

FA Cup rules say you can't postpone for Covid - it is play or forfeit. Has been that way since the preliminary rounds. I think every round before the 1st had teams forfeiting. It is the same in the FA's Trophy and Vase competitions too.

And Fulham v Spurs rearranged to fill in.

Whole situation is a farce.

It’s a consequence of the situation we are in. I don’t see a good solution that will please everyone, unless we cancel the season. Personally I would abandon the euro 2020 this summer which would offer a bit more time to finish the season.
