Hand on Pieters back. Clear push. Lucky Pieters.
Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Match Thread
The best bit about that was Mee flying several feet high into the back of the net.

Shaws challenge was similar to Pope's on Bamford. Both got the ball but were a little reckless in their tackles and clatrered the other play after getting the ball
Good to see VAR judged both incidents the same

Barnes has bought so many challenges today. When he gets the ref on his side he's invaluable.

Linesman may have even called it. But it's fashionable to blame VAR even if it saved one of our players a red card.

Barnes avoiding even the slightest of touch on Cavani. What happened to football being a contact sport.

Good half from us. Think VAR got it right too for once. Can’t see us scoring in open play though. Think it will need a good set piece.

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Match Thread
When VAR is used it has to be either a red card or nothing it can’t be yellow according to the rules so Utd should have been down to 10 men

Hilarious that there’s some Man United fans out there (including a few prominent one’s from Burnley, which is deliciously ironic) that actually think they can win the league this season.

Excellent game of football so far. Man Utd showing a bit of class towards the end of the half but we are well in this game.

Good performance first half hour but we've been giving ball away in midfield in last fifteen mins and they have got on top. I can't understand why Friend didn't see Shaw's foul on jbg straight away: I saw it from 1400 miles away.

VAR comes good
This is why VAR was brought in.
To check on potential sending-offs (Brady and Shaw), and to rule out goals that shouldn't be (Maguire fouling Pieters)
Long live VAR

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Match Thread
Enjoyed that, a few niggly little mistakes costing us possession, but overall a very good, typical Burnley performance.
I was dreading them sneaking one just before half time, so first job done.
We always play better towards the Jimmy Mac, need to at least hold them for 25 mins, then if we're still level get Jay on. I'd normally say for Ash, but he's having a good game. Might be knackered after another 25 mins of that.
Come on Burnley

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Match Thread
Ref done well (up to now!!! ). Game could go either way. Clarets looking more than decent and if this Utd can go top of the league tonight it's a poor season imo. I'll take the point right now.
