Another stale game between two top 6 teams..yet all we hear from fans of the top 6 is how dull we are to watch. At least our games don't get the ridiculous overhyped hysteria that these games do..then fail to deliver.

This happens often when the big boys meet, the objective seems to be not to lose rather than win, it was exactly the same in the Manchester derby last month, safety first attitude and keep it tight, which is bizarre when you see the talent at these sides disposal.

City and Leicester will be content amongst others, it keeps the top 6 split by only 5 points, and assuming City win later they'll be right on the coattails of the leaders with a game in hand, Liverpool could be as low as 4th in a couple of hours, they can't have been that low in the table for a few years.

I'll always root for the underdogs against the big boys.
It would give me no pleasure at all to cheer on a team which is basically the cuddly face of a despotic, human rights-abusing regime.
Added to which, me wishing a particular team to win has no discernible influence on the outcome.

The beauty is, Wellsy1882, the game is much more enjoyable for me to be willing on the underdog. When city inevitably run out 4-0 winners, I can think, "ah well, at least that result benefits us".

Seemed like both teams went to win the game to me. Plenty of efforts at goal and it always seemed like the game could go either way at any moment. It seems quite a common theme that every 0-0 has to be described as a boring game with negative teams.

I'm sure both teams would have liked to have won the game, but equally neither manager would be unhappy at walking away with a point, for all the attacking talent on display neither keeper was overly stretched, yes Alisson produced a couple of good saves late on, but they weren't saves you wouldn't expect at this level, both teams lacked the final pass, or choose the wrong option when the chance was on, that said both defences played well, and nullified a lot of the attacking intent.

It'll be interesting how the cup tie next week compares, you'd hope that would be more open, games like these often need an early goal, otherwise it can develop into a stalemate, I guess we're just used to both Liverpool and United being so free scoring, so when we get a 0-0 it's seen as disappointing.

Ole will be the more satisfied gaffer after that result, Liverpool now 4 PL games without a victory, let's hope it's 5 come Thursday evening.
