Antonio Davila is quite a coup for Burnley. I would imagine he is on a consultancy type basis. Very impressive and he certainly wouldn't have accepted the position if he thought BFC were going nowhere.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
It sounds promising to me. A variety of talents and experience which will surely benefit the club - you would think combined, far more forward thinking than the previous owners. Certainly interested to see what this year brings on and off the pitch.

No 1 on the next senior management meeting agenda should be:
‘Attracting investment for the recruitment of Premier League QUALITY footballers to the Burnley FC squad.’

Interestingly, it does state former shareholders (not half) for MG and JB
"ALK Capital partners Mike Smith and Stuart Hunt will also take seats on the board, sitting alongside former Burnley FC shareholders Mike Garlick and John Banaszkiewicz"

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
Checketts is the star turn here - absolutely top notch credentials - I just wonder if we will have the financing to make best use of his skill set - I actually think he is everything that Everton need as they look to get back to the very top table.
I have said it elsewhere but there is a real concentration of Hospitality expertise on that board - an area the club has been considering developing further, but again you have to think that requires significant infrastructure development, and the maintenance of Premier League Football

It may say former shareholders but there is a minimum requirement to be a director.Wokingclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 2:00 pmInterestingly, it does state former shareholders (not half) for MG and JB

Previously Garlick & John B owned around 78%, the departed directors owned 16% and the other 6% were other shareholders.
We know the other shareholders have retained their 6%, the departed directors I would assume have sold, ALK own 84% so I'm guessing Garlick & John B still own around 10% between them.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
Have to say though their qualities won’t matter a jot, if we’re relegated and they’ll lose interest as we won’t be able to borrow against assets and they’re not in it to invest their own moneyClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 11:30 amIf you are not bright enough to understand their qualities then perhaps you are reading it correctly.
The set up seems similar to the Man Utd model but they have a massive global brand and turnover for now we have Premier League monies only.
Should we lose that they can’t build a brand and we can’t IMO survive the financial model they’ve set up for very long on championship revenue, even if they’ve modelled this to defer repayments in event of relegation, debts of this kind don’t go away.
If they don’t reinforce the squad this Transfer window then we’re playing Russian roulette, Dyche is in a rut.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
just a thought - if the Articles of Association remain unchanged and the value of the takeover priced the Club at £170m - £200m the amount of money issued upfront to the club (suggested to be no more than £15m by Matt Slater and probably less) could have been paid by the 2 new directors with Hunt, Pace and Smith buying their shares entirely from the MSD loans. Alternatively the two new Directors may have bought shares since the takeover.
There is no indication that the 2 new Directors are of the non executive variety so share ownership is required as I understand
I look forward to updates at Companies House that may offer some clarity

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
The only thing I know is that back in the day you had to have 100 shares to be a director which increased to 4,000. Whether that increase was written into the articles I don't know and, of course, it became a different company when from Burnley & Athletic Co Ltd to the holding company.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 3:17 pmjust a thought - if the Articles of Association remain unchanged and the value of the takeover priced the Club at £170m - £200m the amount of money issued upfront to the club (suggested to be no more than £15m by Matt Slater and probably less) could have been paid by the 2 new directors with Hunt, Pace and Smith buying their shares entirely from the MSD loans. Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
I think the former directors did not receive a salary (but may have made some money from selling the club). Do we know if the new directors will be paid a salary or if they will be based in England. The cost of flights, probably not economy class, between the USA and the UK could become very expensive.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm four new directors
I would assume they are salaried. Pace said he'll be here 80% of the time with the other 20% in London and New York. I think that is also definitely the case for Hunt & Smith. Don't know about Checketts and Dávila but I can confirm the other two, Garlick and Banaskiewicz, are southern England based.MT03ALG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 4:37 pmI think the former directors did not receive a salary (but may have made some money from selling the club).
