One thing is for sure. Neither of these two sides will finish in the top six.

I hereby predict Arsenal will finish top 6.
Having said that, I’m not watching this evening, so maybe I’m sounding rash.

It's a pity we don't play Newcastle until April, I think we could manage a result against them at the moment.

Newcastle poor again, Bruce must be on borrowed time, and they are well and truly in the relegation mire. The more the merrier as far as we're concerned.

I don't think Brucie's gonna get a bonus.

Maybe a P45.

I always think when you play teams has a big influence. No way that Newcastle result would happen if we played them next week.

They've been rubbish since St maximim got covid.
He's almost back now. Even Bruce will pick him.

13 hours without a goal from open play for the Geordies, and people think we're struggling, the difference is we don't have strikers that cost 10's of millions.

Aubemayang overtakes Chris Wood by scoring his fourth and fifth goals of the season in his 18th game. Surprised that he is still being given a chance just because he scored 22 last season and was their leading goalscorer. Surely he should have been dropped.

His first goal at the Emirates this season was for us

Don't we have 3 that cost around the £10m or more mark?

Yes but compared to Newcastle's forwards ours are bargain basement.

Joelinton £40m
Wilson £20m (TBF he's done ok when he's played)
Dwight Gayle £10m or so

And finally Andy Carroll, yes he was a free transfer, but he'll be on big wages.

In comparison

Wood £15m
Jay & Vydra £10m or so apiece

It's fair to state that neither team can hit a barn door ATM, but I'd say Bruce is under more pressure than Sean, I can't see the Magpies faithful tolerating these results and style of play for much longer, and Ashley must be losing patience also, as this run of results has increased the pressure on him to spend in this window, and we all know how loathe he is too splash the cash.

Definitely agree that Bruce is under more pressure than Dyche - 100%. The Newcastle fans just won't have him and he knows it. Mike Ashley is incredibly stubborn though and I think so long as he keeps them above the bottom three he'll be fine - that seems to be enough for him, for now anyway.

Both sides are very poor in front of goal right now though, and neither have a set of strikers brought in on the cheap.

You're not sure because I wasn't querying the post. I was asking how much our strikers cost.

Well it is unlikely to get any worse, early morning walk with the dogs and I am soaked through to the skin, on the plus side it isn't February yet so I am having another day off.
