Just going through his honours list and Utd is the only place he didn't win the league, but he still managed to pick up some winners medals.

He has stood the test of time. Longevity and consistency. OK yes he can be a bit of a bellend but you can't knock what he has acheived in the game and some of the goals he has scored have been beyond belief. He is lucky that he has relied on his strength more than his pace throughout his career (although he was no slouch either) and this has enabled him to carry on to this age. Incredible player.

Was made out to be a self righteous bellend in his younger days and completely played the part, to almost caricature levels for the remainder of his career. Personally, having seen some interviews, I think he knows exactly what he's doing and it's an excellent act.

Best bit is he has the honours and skill to cash the cheques that his 'ego' writes.

Like Darth says, it’s all a panto act now. And he has the talent and the trophies to back it up. Obviously looks after himself and still puts the hours in to play like this at the highest level at such an age. Fantastic player.
