I can empathise with Harry Chadwick on this one as I had a similar wasted journey though only from student digs in Bradford. Got to the ground at about 2pm only to see it postponed. Walking back to town had the "pleasure" of informing first Billy Ingham that the game was off...he just shrugged his shoulders...and then Keith Newton...he replied in a more vocal anglo saxon manner! Walked past the Keirby on the way to town as the Portsmouth players were getting on their coach remember seeing Freddie Smith and Colin Blant if memory serves me correct amongst others

Fred Smith was still at Pompey then but Colin Blant had moved on to Rochdale. How many games did Pointer play for Portsmouth against Burnley? I am pretty certain I would not have seen the rearranged game that season but I remember one match where he had a near standing ovation as he came out (richly deserved I might add) and promptly played Burnley off the park almost single handedly. I am as sure as I can be that it would be 71/72. When was the Geoff Nulty og?
