In the past, I've pretty much liked him but I've seen a nasty side to him on occasions too. I thought tonight was one of those. The half time spat with Sean plus other touchline whines on several occasions. No different to all the other entitled so called big hitters. They don't like it when the smaller clubs give em a run for their money and God forbid, turn em over!! Balls to em UTC!!

Re: Klopp
Very good manager but not a jot of class about him.
Even Fergie gave us credit when we turned Man U over at the Turf. Klopp brought himself to say the word Burnley once in his whole interview and it was to mention how predictable our tactics were.
Sometimes, it's worthwhile just to say you've been done. No matter how much it hurts.

Re: Klopp
I’m not sure why the half time spat shows his nasty side, anymore than it does Dyche. It looked like a reaction to something Dyche said and name me a manager who doesn’t have a whinge.prettygreenclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 10:35 pmIn the past, I've pretty much liked him but I've seen a nasty side to him on occasions too. He perhaps could have given some credit to us but aside from that, I don’t think there’s too much to complain about with him.

Normally when we beat teams that don't accept losing to us, the manager gets the sack. Fingers crossed.

Re: Klopp
What he says to the press is just PR and I don't know what people want from an opposing manager who just lost to us.
Once the whistle blew first thing he did was walk on the pitch and fist bump every player in yellow.
Klopp is a very decent manager and a smart chap, but also smart enough to know when he knows nothing. Like when he was asked about Covid & lockdowns and his reply was to stop asking him and go interview some doctors and scientists.

I was happy enough with his post match interview. Blamed himself for the defeat not his players. I always prefer managers to concentrate on their own team rather than get dragged in to slagging off or praising the other team.

Re: Klopp
Seems to have anger issues but by the end of the game he gave up and acted normal. Probably because someone told him if he didn't calm down he'd get fined or sent to the stand.
I have no respect for someone who loses it like that, he argues with referees aggressively in the first half and later on pulls his goalkeeper away from arguing with the ref because he knows it's over.
What kind of message does that give to his players?
Anyway, seems okay when he's not angry, but a lot of people do. No excuse and should get in trouble for his antics at half time.

Re: Klopp
Maybe we're interpreting his comments differently. I assumed he meant that it was a "must win" game for them, which they lost, hence "impossible to lose".robclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 11:52 pmIt's a great great night and I don't want to come across as moaning, but i was disgusted at Klopp. He said " it was impossible to lose tonight... but we did" Why was it impossible to lose ? His English is good, but sometimes the choice of phrase from foreigners can cause misinterpretation.
But, irrespective of that comment, I didn't hear him complain about Burnley at all. He focused on his own team's failings, and took the blame himself.
I'm a big fan of Dyche but if you don't think that he makes "dubious" comments in his post match interviews, then you have very claret tinted glasses.
Supporters of other clubs consider him to be a real whinger.
Klopp had a disastrous result and is under tremendous pressure from the media. Overall, I think he's handled the press ok.

There was a very minor altercation between him and Dyche, but it's very clear that Dyche instigated that.
Should both managers get in trouble? Or was there something else?

I thought he meant that with the amount of possession and number of shots they had that they should never have lost.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:36 pmMaybe we're interpreting his comments differently. Re: Klopp
He meant it was a game that should, the way it was going, have ended by Liverpool winning, taking into account possession, shots and so on and usually he'd be right.
However, "diligence", graft, courage and luck sometimes trump domination.

You could see the flash point at halftime brewing from midway in the 1st half, we definitely get under Liverpool and Klopps skin.
Long may it continue

Re: Klopp
Did you see the replays of half time? He was shouting and flailing his arms at the 4th official, he came chasing Dyche down the tunnel doing the same thing. Doesn't matter if Dyche said something that wound him up. He shouldn't be allowed to act that way. Its disrespectful to the game.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:41 pmWhat antics were those?.

Even if Dyche told him where to go, it still doesn't warrant actions like that. One thing against another manager, but also against the officials?
Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of passion in the game but I'm with Dyche when it comes to my opinion of him. I think he's a disrespectful idiot, Dyche already told him what he thought in a previous game after he was taunting our bench with his stupid celebrations, and now he's shown that if we are respectful in victory he will do exactly the opposite and act like a spoilt teenager.
If we acted in a similar fashion in victory as he did, I'm sure he'd end up punching Dyche and getting banned from the game, but we don't because our staff are respectful.

Re: Klopp
Yes that is indeed another interpretation, and could well be the case. If that's what he mean't then he would also be correct, and I don't think he intended to disrespect us.
