Shirt - what year ?

Just been sent this photo of a burnley shirt, think its around 88 ?
Is it a rare one as someone has just offered £200 for it

Yes 87-88. They’re not that common but unless it has something special about it (player worn for example) £200 seems an awful lot to pay for it.

The make was E-NS.

My first Burnley kit.

Ellgren came a couple of years later and made our kits for seasons 89/90 and 90/91.

I've got one of those kits but as I was 7 at the time it's tiny.

I genuinely once wore it for 4 weeks without taking it off.

(I had a broken arm)

That mysterious "E" fascinated me as a kid.

What did it mean? Was it some kind of code or secret language? Would it bestow magical footballing ability on me?

I only managed to answer the final question which was "no".
