Michael Jolley confirming that his links with Burnley have helped secure the loan

Re: Bobby Thomas
No offence to Barrow, but I thought he might have gone out on loan to a higher level than League 2, anyway at least he'll get game time with them, and that's what he needs right now, the fact that Michael Jolley is their gaffer now, will no doubt have played a part in this deal.
He impressed at Millwall, and he looks the real deal, but he's never going to get near our 1st team when the Mee/Tarks pairing is performing so outstandingly. So he may as well go out and gain some valuable first team experience.

Re: Bobby Thomas
My understanding with loans is that it's not always just about the level but the set-up of the loaning club and the playing philosophy
I don't know that much about Michael Jolley but I'm guessing there will be a number of similarities to the way he used to do things here - so that should appeal to us as a club and likewise the player
Plus as you say - you'd hope plenty of game time
Jolley seems to have made a decent start there - hope he steers them clear of relegation

Re: Bobby Thomas
I think he looked excellent. Pleased he’s going to get games. Hope he continues to progress
Re: Bobby Thomas
Good luck to the lad , game time will greatly benefit his progression
Re: ARTICLE: Barrow move for Thomas
It's clear SD believes in him. He's better, far better, playing in L2 than in the U23s with all due respect to allthe players who play in that league. One can but presume he WILL be playing regularly (if he plays well enough, of course).
Good luck, Bobby.

There next game is on Tuesday night. I’m going to keep a close eye on him.
Think he could be one of the next lads to come through the system.

Re: Bobby Thomas
Agreed. Whenever I have seen him (admittedly no more than 4 or 5 times) he looks class. Reminds me of Michael Keane in his aerial ability and the way he seems to dominate opponents.tiger76 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 3:41 pmNo offence to Barrow, but I thought he might have gone out on loan to a higher level than League 2, anyway at least he'll get game time with them, and that's what he needs right now, the fact that Michael Jolley is their gaffer now, will no doubt have played a part in this deal.

The main thing is though he is currently 5th choice here and is going out to gain some valuable first team experience which will hopefully progress the potential which can only be good for us.

Re: ARTICLE: Barrow move for Thomas
Saw him play last March down at Ashton against City and he looked very promising, he looked more than capable of stepping up to a much higher level.
If he has a good spell at Barrow it will give Dyche food for thought going into next season. If all goes well we will more than likely looking to offload either Long or Dunn
