Not bad on 5LiveExtra too, Paul Mortimore ? one of the commentators.
Old-fashioned take but said we well and truly outplayed Fulham

Just watched the opening again on tv. He never introduced his self. Very good.

Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
I got a text from MDWat during the game saying how much better it was with one commentator and I do have to agree. I just wish he'd dropped the Berg in Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson.

The Dutch commentary on my stream may well have been excellent if only I had a clue what he was saying!!
The picture was resilient though much better than the English version so not bothered.

Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
All Championship matches on Sky on the red button are the same with no co commentator .
I always watch a red button match even if the main one looks a better game as you don’t have to tolerate the likes of Andy Hinchcliffe who never stops talking and it is even more frustrating when the commentator is Gary Weaver who tells you what players have for breakfast
Was super today

BT match commentator wasnt the same one who just described the "highlights" on BBC at HT of the Manchester Utd v Liverpool.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 6:04 pmTom Gayle. Just had his name up on our highlights with BBC.
The BT commentator was ok, but it's much better when it's just 1 bloke, even better when they're totally neutral.
Too many prem games have ex players doing the commentary, and it can get a touch bias.
Also they tend to harp on about how things were when they were there, or games from yesterday year.
I'm ok for a few facts and stats, but the current game is the msin thing we are all there for.

Paddy Power website, no commentary or canned fans, just instructions being shouted from the bench. Quite interesting listening to Dyche.

Was it just me or did be pronounce MacNeil rather than McNeil all the way through?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 5:19 pmI got a text from MDWat during the game saying how much better it was with one commentator and I do have to agree. Also I hate stats like Jay Rod hasn’t scored for 19 games - whilst true, how many of those games has he even been on the pitch?
Overall, it was good. Must be tough on your own, but much better than random chat to fill time.

Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
Spot on. Modern statistics lying again. Many times forwards come on late and are told to run the channels and take it to the corner. Fake news.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:50 pmAlso I hate stats like Jay Rod hasn’t scored for 19 games - whilst true, how many of those games has he even been on the pitch?
Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
OK commentary but seemed to have about 10 or so facts from each side he mentioned right at the start and randomly interjected through the game. Was thinking at some point that he must be about to say Sean Dyche is the longest serving current PL manager and he came right out with it.
Had a reasonably good appreciation of what was actually going on though.

The Jay Rod 19 games - he’s been on the pitch for all 19. Obviously some of them are sub appearances.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:50 pmWas it just me or did be pronounce MacNeil rather than McNeil all the way through?

It’s a bit like the ‘not won at Liverpool for 46 years’. It’s correct but there have only been seven league games between the two wins.

Thursday night the same, we haven’t won at Anfield since 1965 or what ever it was. But the we have probably only played at Anfield 6 times since then.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:53 pmSpot on. Modern statistics lying again. No mention of SD having a pub named after him
No mention of how cold it is at Burnley

Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
Is there a difference? I have never tried to say Mc or Mac differently. I suppose Mc could be more of a clipped 'muc' rather than a 'mac' but in reality hardly any English people use them in any other manner than 'mac'Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:50 pmWas it just me or did be pronounce MacNeil rather than McNeil all the way through?

Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
I watched on a stream from hesgoal. It buffered/crashed a couple of times but overall good. When it crashed it came back and had changed from English commentary, the Mrs walked in and asked if we were playing in Europe
Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
My stream had Russian commentary, the only words I could make out apart from the players names etc. were "Stoke City", "Tony Pulis" and "Sam Allardyce"
Re: Fulham Match Commentary...
I started with English then Dutch, moved to German and I think it was Finnish to to end but not sure
Supposed to have all the FA Cup games on ESP, failed miserably, moved to Hesgoal and everytime I had to refresh a different language, but still enjoyed the football and the results.
