The last time we played Bournemouth in the FA Cup
Their right winger, the name escapes me, absolutely rinsed our left back, Mo Camara, in one of the most excellent displays of attacking right wing play I’d seen at Turf Moor. Needless to say, I think we can all agree that he completely lifted our club over the next eight or nine years. Such a talent and a top bloke.

And a certain James Hayter played upfront and went on later in his career to score one of the fastest hatricks recorded

Not sure if he'd already done that by this stage.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 8:05 pmAnd a certain James Hayter played upfront and went on later in his career to score one of the fastest hatricks recorded

Notable mentions too, to G.O.C and Spice, who also joined us.

Yup. No less than four future Clarets in the Bournemouth side that day.

What I’d give for another Wade in our team now

And that won us a home tie against Rovers I believe! (And replay) Two absolutely amazing atmospheres.

Re: The last time we played Bournemouth in the FA Cup
I think it was the year Bournemouth were seriously ****** off about having to play us at all when they were banking on a trip to Anfield. Think they threatened to sue Liverpool for playing a weakened team against us!
Re: The last time we played Bournemouth in the FA Cup
Was Sean O’Driscoll their manager back then? I remember he had an excellent spell at Doncaster which culminated in him becoming strongly linked to our own managerial vacancy when Coyle did the dirty 5 years later.

Don’t remind me about B’mouth in the cup.
We were due to come down for a replay in the 60s. BBC announced they were showing a highlights package at night and me Da said we’ll leave it.
7-0, 5 for Andy Lochhead and Bob Lord wouldn’t let the BBC in. Gutted.

You didn't miss much I got absolutely soaked, it poured down start to finish, possibly the wettest I've been watching a match in my life.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 11:33 pmDon’t remind me about B’mouth in the cup.

And I stood out on the Bee Hole in the second half, finished up with an horrendous cold and my mum wouldn't let be go on the Chelsea game on the following Saturday.
