We need a refresh in the squad. Too many old non technical players who just aren’t good enough.

We are absolutely shocking at offensive side of the game, its been getting worse and worse every year under SD. Its boring.
We have no composure in in the last third, shots end up in row z, just work the keeper FFS. Really is hit and hope football.

This is looking like one of those games where neither team is playing particularly well, but either could win it. Games we always seem to lose.

Doesn’t look like our day. Still, there’s plenty of time to change things and regroup after half time.
I disagree - it’s games like you’ve just described against bottom half opposition like this that have kept us up year in year out.

Think Vyds should have played to Dwight sooner there but can’t blame him for trying the shot

Think Vydra is doing everything you could ask of him, Barnes is way off his best, so far. Not clicking yet, but all to play for.

yes we've had some chances but as limited as we were in that half the only change you could consider would be Jay for Barnes
The rest of the bench promises very little

We’ve worked some good positions but the delivery into the box is absolutely chronic. McNeil particularly must’ve put five crosses straight down the keeper’s throat.

Crap half big team talk from the ginger one. Barnes too slow, Guds can only go backwards, not one good cross far to easy for the south coast puffs

I blame Southgate.

Hear me out on this. Pope being told he poor with his feet; Tarkowski being told he needs to be more of a “baller”; any of our team being told that to play for their country they need to play like f#cking Man City.

I think there’s a degree of player power influencing how we have played recently - we are trying to play it out from the back more, instead of getting it up field and winning the second balls for a swift counter. It’s been noticeable for a while now.

So that’s why I blame Southgate.

I’m always happy to be proved wrong! Sometimes I just get a feeling that it’s not going to be our day. Hopefully the HT break will give us time to calm down and regroup.

Why is it shocking? Their keeper has had far more to do than Pope, with a bit more luck we would be level at the very least.

I prefer our good old fashioned “long ball” with a clinical attack. I think we’re trying to hard to be like other teams sometimes. Let’s get back to basics - get it in the box and attack the ball
When has our "long ball" game every produced clinical attacks? I do agree we need to get the ball into the box but with quality which isn't there. No threat through the middle. No threat out wide. No wonder we struggle to score goals.

And McNeill was p*ss poor when he lost that ball. Just through his head back and sulked instead of going to fight for the ball back. That's what top players do when they make a mistake.

There are, off the top of my head, three players in that side that are no longer producing performances anywhere near acceptable on a consistent basis for us.

It’s games like this following such a desperately poor two years of ‘transfer business’ that make you pull your hair out at our lack of desire to do anything in January.

No way should we behind in this game. Couple of poor mistakes at the back and their first effort is in. Long long half coming up as they will just park the bus and break when they can.

For all those who say Wood is crap we are half the threat without him.

And can Tarks do some shooting practice please!

I'd pull Gudmunsson and put jayrod on wide r

Such negativity. Unbelievable. Ok we weren’t fantastic but I thought we had a decent half, particularly after they scored.

Improved after the Bha goal. We really should have gone in all square at ht.
Pieters, Gudmundsson are really poor and Barnes offers little.
We are missing Woods height up front and his hold up play

I don't think we've done too badly, especially going forward. Vydra, Lowton and JBG are getting a lot of room and a lot of joy, but we have to make it count. Barnes sadly is a passenger and it's definitely hampering us. Their goal is awful from a Clarets perspective, but tbh Brighton kind of sum up what's been happening for the last 2/3 transfer windows. They have evolved into a more than decent side with too much about them to be bottom 3 material or going down!! We've stagnated and we're needing a spark.
