THe WEather In Burnley Tomorrow

Post by warksclaret » Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:58 pm

For those of you living in or near Burnley just wondered if you had received heavy snow in the last 36 hours and what are the prospects of tomorrow going ahead, and snow forecast. We had a fair amount down here in Leicestershire

It's been snowing but it's only been a light dusting and its not even sticking.

Can't see there being any risk to tomorrows game

Light snow that has a dusting on the ground. Will need a lot of snow tomorrow to put this game at risk.

Thanks both for the updates-the last thing we want is an additional fixture congestion

Little chance of the game being called off even if we have a heavy fall of snow. No crowds, under soil heating and pitch clearing will sort the job out

If your worried search through Dave Fishwicks Twitter posts and see him fly over the Turf in heavy snow.

The pitch is the only green field for miles around.

It was from a couple of weeks ago when we had it bad.

No significant snow forecast on the usually reliable site that I use.

What website do you use? Just for future use. BBC's provider and the Met Office can't get the weather right for the same day let alone long term.

BBC weather forecasting heavy snow from 5 pm for a couple of hours and again tomorrow...doubt it will affect the match tomorrow though.

yr.no - it's the Norwegian met office but you can put in any local place name. I reckon since Michael Fish got all that stick for his hurricane comment, the BBC has been so scared of missing bad weather that they predict it to be worse than they really believe. The Norwegian Met Office doesn't have that fear so they tell it as it is - or rather, as they believe it to be!

It's 11 years since a game was called off on the Turf for weather reasons and then it was because of the surrounds and considered a danger to supporters.

I can say it was really cold today. I ventured a few houses away to drop off some shopping items and I just thought how cold it would have been sitting at the U23 game at Leyland. But I'd expect only seriously extreme weather could get a game called off with no spectators and nothing like that is forecast. It will be cold though.

Weird day - very cold, light dusting on the ground and snowed most of the day but didn't stick or build up.

Game should be fine

The snow is back, swirling in the wind - it has been trying for much of the last hour up Rosehill, where I can confirm it is damn cold

Predicting minus 8 in London tomorrow night. A record low for them in 10 years. Guess you hardened NORTHERNERS are used to this
