MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
In some perverse way I wouldn't be surprised if Dyche welcomed that defeat
In his own eyes he will be blameless pointing out injuries and a lack of squad strengthening

He most certainly is one of our best ever managers, but Jesus Christ man, what an opportunity thrown away again. Where was the ’maximum effort is the minimum requirement’?Top Claret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:22 pmSome real pathetic stuff on here towards Dyche

Watch more Burnley games than most of you lot put together. Dyche is the best manager this football club have ever had.
Fickle the lot of you
I’m so disappointed and if spitting my dummy out makes me feel better then so be it.
Absolute shite.

Its no more than we deserved.
Better team won who took their chances.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Let's hear the bs from Dyche how we were unlucky
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
if anyone needed a wake up call a managerless Bournemouth B comes to our ground 5/4 favourites to knock us out and see the reaction at the end ? no Bournemouth players jumping up and down or punching the air, they expected to win.
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
I've never been one to shout for Dyche to be sacked - never will, but can you blame the fans for being frustrated? We field WEAK SIDES every single season in the cup, it's so bloody frustrating - you can understand losing against sides like Man City, but games we should easily be winning - we're allowed to expect better. First decent chance at a cup run in years - we're allowed to be frustrated.Top Claret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:22 pmSome real pathetic stuff on here towards Dyche

Hoping that abject performance gives them a kick up the arse for weekend because that was embarrassing.Cubanclaret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:23 pmBournemouth had a lot more wages on the pitch than we have. A cup upset would have been a home win.
We’re too many players ‘touch and go’. Dyche has probably done the right thing in saving them for the next three.
A cup run is nothing without fans.

premiership football for burnley, if all you can expect is to survive each year and not take the cups seriously, what’s the point :- ground improvements, academy, training ground , just had to remind myself

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
summer transfer business awful then same again January and repeats from past years are really coming home to roost. Hard to support the club even though I remember dark days of being in the bottom tier, just thought with the Prem money we might have invested in players. So sad as from the start of the Prem I dreamt of my Clarets being there with the riches it brings. This new Chairman has to do something as I fear for our topflight survival. Certainly Dale Stephens is not the answer!!!

The worst and most disappointing performance of the season so far. Given how far clear we are of 3 hopeless sides in the league I think Dyche's attitude toward tonight's game was disgraceful.

Dreadful display which second string or not, takes momentum away from us when we really need it. Ironically we had ONE decent 15 minute spell in the second half and Jay misses an absolute sitter which could have kick started us. After that it was back to chasing shadows. Stehens V Billing....mmmmmm Wonder who won that one. A total mis match if ever there was one!!

Although I see your point, I do think we are seeing the end of the Sean Dyche era. Actually I hope so, his behaviour since the first lockdown hasn't been what you'd expect from a highly paid PL manager.Top Claret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:22 pmSome real pathetic stuff on here towards Dyche

You're talking absolute nonsense. We put out a poorly organised second team against a half decent Championship side. Because of injuries and other ambitions, we weren't up for it as much as they were and got what we deserved, absolutely.
Disappointing, yes. A wasted opportunity, yes but a draw or win at Palace and I'll be happy.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
I still get all nostalgic about the fact cup I love the early rounds and still dream one day my club can win it.And I always believe when any club gets to the 5th round they should go out to try and win the competition especially when you have a favourable home tie.Tonight is nothing short of a disgrace I don't hold sway with all this concentrate on the league especially now there are no replays.I know we haven't performed well in the cups under Dyche but he has gone way down in my estimation like others have said he can **** off now let's have change. And I do know what he has done for our club
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
People really need to take a reality check.
With a significant number of first team regulars injured or undergoing treatment and battling to get back into the team in the fight against rrelegation Dyche resorts to a group of young lads who are brought in to help out in the FA Cup within a frameworks of more experienced players.
I'm not sure that many of those youngsters acquitted themselves that well tonight with the exception of the goalkeeper but surely with such a threadbare squad which has had no significant investment for two years, a result against Palace is far more crucial.

Dyche believes his own publicity, that he is a wonderful manager who is hard done by. We all love his attitude and commitment but he has a lot of flaws and tonight his lack of concern for the fans was very evident.

Pretty hard to sell us as everyones favourite underdog when we can't even perform when the favourite against lower league opposition. Everyones favourite laughing stock might be more realistic.

I hope your wrong with reference to the Dyche era. If Dyche leaves we will struggle playing free flowing football with our players, nor do we appear to have the finances to replace with betterboatshed bill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:28 pmAlthough I see your point, I do think we are seeing the end of the Sean Dyche era. But this is all down to our increasing dependence on aging players. Over the last 5 seasons have we signed more than one player under 30 who could be seen as a first team starter?

On the bright side at least we've avoided the disappointment of reaching a Wembley final and not being able to attend.

All it needed was one experienced CB and CM to start the game
To "rest" all four was a shambolic decision
And I would like to think all four players would have thought the same

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
That was woeful from our 2nd string, but it's the cup. We had a good chance at a cup run I'm told, so that's what, a few extra games for a threadbare squad risking injuries and more fixture congestion? We can't win it can we? Maybe get to the final to have one of the big guns put 6 past us?
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Hardly surprising really, we have a small squad and the team tonight had two and half players from the first team. The manager knows that the one single priority for this season is not getting relegated, and he has made his decisions on that basis. We were never going to win the cup, and if leaving out most of the first team gives us any advantage at all for the upcoming Premier League games, then that is justifiable in terms of the one single priority for this season.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
If a club like burnley cant take the fifth round seriously, when are chances of any silver wear or history making moments in the premier league or next to zero, i find it very disappointing. If football is basically now a finance and accountancy business for all clubs in the premiership. The soul of the game is gone, through in var. and i can think of more reasons to give up on the game than stay

We may actually have seen exactly why Dyche was so keen to protect certain key players by leaving them out tonight. Because he knows full well that without them we're utterly bu***red. That's been plain for a while and was made plain in the first few weeks of the season and was made VERY plain tonight.

We have had some shocking performances in the cup over the years. That was another embarrassing performance. The players who were given a chance, have done nothing to show that they would deserve another chance. The senior players were awful.
