Predictions v Te Baggies
Predictions v Te Baggies
There's normally a related thread to whoever we might
be playing next but can't see one so here goes.
I think it's going to be a very tight games unless something weird
happens and it's an absolute 'must win' for West Brom if they are going to have
much chance of staying up.
Less a must win for us. Closer to a must not lose.
So I'm going for a 2-2 draw.
Shall be praying for a win which keeps us on the up
(7 points from 9) and makes West Brom chances of staying up
even more difficult, if not impossible.
Ideally I'd like it to be a cracking game with us coming out 4-3 winners

This is not a must not lose game for us. It's a game against poor opposition that I expect us to win comfortably 2-0.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
Totally agree, Fulham was a must not lose, and we didn't, this is a different kettle of fish, there's a reason WB only have 13 points, and have conceded so many goals, so we need to ensure we're on the front foot from the off tomorrow, and we will be a convincing 2-0 win to the mighty Clarets.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
We looked completely shagged-out in the second half against Fulham.
We're a totally better side than the Baggies, but I do just hope we've recovered from that.
If we have, 2-0.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
3-1 to us. BFS will scrape the barrel for excuses and blame the warm front bringing air from Africa and in particular Saharan dust which distracted his players as it would land on their cars so they couldn't concentrate against a team who walk everywhere.

We score first,, we win. They score we draw.
Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
2-0 to Burnley. Jay Rodriguez with a brace. Just need to keep an eye on Diagne, their centre forward. He looks a good player for them. Feeling confident though. Up the Clarets.

I’m going for another Palace. 3-0. They are not good and I’m laughing that some people have suggested they are on the up. They just aren’t. I don’t have a problem with the club or their fans but they are total shite.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
If we play the hoof ball tactics it's going to be a hard watch
In Ajayi and Bartley they have two giants at the back and playing high, hanging punts up to static front men will be food and drink to them
They will come through the back of Barnes, he will do his dying swan impersonations, and there will be no flow to the game at all
Our goal on Weds night showed vision. A ball down the line, super stepover from Jay, sublime cross into the middle where Ash was running on to the ball whilst, importantly, facing the goal
Okay, there was a miscontrol from Ash as he tried to put the ball onto his right foot, but that worked in our favour as it eventually came through to his left foot for an excellent finish
They have to win today so if they push forward there should be space behind their full backs for similar runs to that of Weds
Depends on how we start the game (18 of 24 matches when we haven't scored in the first half). Get at them from the ko and it's our game. Let them have a foothold in the first 45 mins and another draw

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
Not beating these today will be seriously bad news when you look at the next 2 games and when you consider that if we're serious about staying up we really have to put teams like this away. If we don't we really can't cry about it if we ultimately get what we deserve come May. For West Brom it's pretty much all over whether they win or lose tbh, but for us it's more about the gap to Fulham and making others around us sweat more than we are.

2 nil win and fat Sam to go into meltdown. Jay to score and fat Sam will whine about something because he always does the oval headed tit.

JayRod still holding a torch for West Brom, so unless he's ultra professional, he might find it difficult helping to send them down.
Might be better to start with Barny and Vyds.
2-0 Burnley.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
SD got what he set out for against Fulham, let's hope he goes for the win in this one. 2-0.
Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
If we don't concede a goal we won't lose. If we don't concede a goal and score we will win, which I think is what will happen.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
Another must not lose, and i cant see SD changing the front 2, so it will be the hoof and fall over set up.
Looks like we are thread bare out wide too, so will probably a game with very few chances and little quality.
They are dog sh1te and conceed an average of 2.5 goals a game, where we should be full stregth at the back.
Hopefully we can get a bit of luck or a mistake from them ( right side of the margins in SD speak ) and nick a goal
I'm going 1-0 , but like the Brighton and Fulham games, it has 1-1 written all over it

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
I predicted 1-1 versus Brighton on the basis that neither team scores many goals and always has the potential to let one slip at the back. Nothing different for today IMO therefore predict 1-1 (whilst hoping for a Clarets win to relieve the pressure).

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
2-0.
Pretty much a "must win" for them as they're running out of games to try and close a 12 point gap to safety. They'll have to go-for-it but I think our defence will be too good and we'll have a fair few opportunities- enough to notch a couple. Hope so anyway, I've nothing against WBA but not a BFS fan.

BFS is gonna try and make it tight but have Albion got the players to do the job he wants, I'm not sure they have I'll go 2-0 for the Clarets.

First off why is it ‘must not lose’? Do you still think we are relegation candidates?MACCA wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 10:09 amAnother must not lose, and i cant see SD changing the front 2, so it will be the hoof and fall over set up.

Secondly our defence will be at full strength, what makes you think they’ll score?
The fact that you think either shows very little faith in the team. We are decent, not great but decent, and if we hadn’t had such a bad start due to injuries we’d be easily mid table.
Relegation is not on the cards.
Mid table beckons.
We are far superior to any of the bottom three.
I think people are just talking relegation to keep the season interesting after the Bournemouth self-inflicted debacle.
Only Newcastle (because of form) can really be dragged into it and I don’t really see that either. Bottom three are down I believe.

Burnley find themselves in the same "down to the bare bones" situation that was highlighted by Ben Mee in his article in The Guardian at the end of last season.
0-0 most likely but a 1-0 either way would be no surprise.

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
A win today and we'll be in amongst the likes of Wolves, Leeds, Southampton, Palace, and does anyone seriously believe any of those teams are in a relegation battle, Newcastle could be just 3 points clear of Fulham should they beat Sheff Utd in the late game, so I would certainly consider them to be in danger, and like us they have a lengthy injury list, the big difference is we're in decent form, and indeed we have been for a fair while now, whereas Newcastle after a bright start to the campaign are struggling to pick up consistent results, and have a manager in Bruce who's severely under pressure.houseboy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 1:34 pmFirst off why is it ‘must not lose’? From what I saw of Fulham the other night we have no fears concerning relegation even if we lose today. Our interest now is the pack immediately above us with a top 13 finish more than achievable

Superior than the bottom 3? WBA deserved to win with 10 MEN FOR AN HOUR
We scored no goals against them in 2 games when they average 2.5 against per game

May have got the score right, but WBA should have won by 3-0 and we did not test their keeper. The sad thing is most of the Burnley players will have picked up £40k in their weekly wage packet, probably more than most Burnley fans earn a year (if they are not furloughed)
It is one of the most embarrasing performances I have seen in 60 years of following the team. I hope SD comes out and admits it was poor

Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
Nay. Your just upset. We have played far worse than that. Remember back in the day when Sunderland went in at half time with 9 men then came out and beat us 2-0? Or the more recent Bournemouth fiasco. Thats just 2 and I can think of many more. Fact is when they had a man sent off my heart sank because BFS immediately took off a striker and replaced him with a defender. I felt sure from then it would be goalless. Although they played better than I thought they would. Bad day at the office but it doesn’t make us crap, just inconsistent. We are still far better than the bottom three or Newcastle for that matter.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:11 pmMay have got the score right, but WBA should have won by 3-0 and we did not test their keeper. Re: Predictions v Te Baggies
It was a bit poor but we are nothing if inconsistent. Fulham picking up a bit but the others, including Newcastle, are consistently poor.
