James Tarkowski
Brutally honest post match interview from the big man.
Me personally will be devastated when he leaves. He looks a class apart at times

Re: James Tarkowski
If he’d got injured for any lengthy amount of time this season, we’d be in the Championship already.
Re: James Tarkowski
Can't recall a better centre half, he must be frustrated with the garbage in front of him and the appalling tactics, don't blame him wanting to leave.

Must be very very frustrating. He Should be playing European football yet he is in a team where we struggle to string together 4 passes

Re: James Tarkowski
He was overheard shouting "You're f***ing walking around offering nothing". Could have been aimed at any of those in front of him. Clearly frustrated and he saved us a point with that goalline clearance. He was the best of a very bad bunch today.

Superb attitude from a top player considering he likely knows he is off himself in the summer regardless of what we do on the pitch.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 9:23 pmHe was overheard shouting "You're f***ing walking around offering nothing". Its a travesty he's not in that England squad

Re: James Tarkowski
About a better centre half or what's in front of him or both ?
In the modern era he in my opinion is better then anything I have seen, Keane was good but Tarks shades it. As for today come on how could that be described as anything other then amateurish.

People seem to be forgetting that Ben Mee is in the same contract situation as Tarks
This could spell "double trouble"

Re: James Tarkowski
Ben Mee tried to get himself a move before but stalling on his contract but nobody come in for him so I doubt anyone will this time.
Mind you the transfer window can be crazy at times but if we lost both in the same window it would be footballing suicide

Ok , he was heard saying something on those lines . So what ?
Do you really think leaders like Tarkowski keep quiet and say nothing when it needs to be said?

I think it supports the theory that he believes he is better than the squad he is currently playing along side.

I didn't mention it because i thought he was wrong to say it. I mentioned it because it shows his frustration of what is going on in front of him. A frustration we all share. It shows he cares.

Best centre half of the 3, if he could play out from the back he would be thought of alot higher.

Re: James Tarkowski
I love Ben Mee but there's a reason it's Tarky and Keane who are the players leaving for a bigger club and not him.
That's not a dig btw it's just a fair comment as if other clubs thought that he was the best then they'd be after him

Keane kept Tarks on the bench when we had them both.DomBFC1882 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 10:12 pmKeane was good but he didn't do it for long in the Premier league with us unlike Tarky so I'd edge towards Tarks on that basis tbh
Keane made 56 PL appearances for us before being sold for £30 million.
Keane is playing for Everton, currently 7th in the table and for one of the most decorated managers in European football and he's getting picked on merit because he's been very good for them.
Keane is getting picked for England ahead of Tarks.
Tarks has been absolutely brilliant for us, but Keane is the better player of the two.
Tarks is right to seek pastures new, he's earned that after what he's done for us and that was probably always his long term plan.
Our problem is we don't have his replacement here already like we did when we knew Keane was likely to go.
Oh and the fact Keane is doing well at Everton quite possibly irks someone on here who doesn't/didn't rate him at all and that amuses me a lot

Re: James Tarkowski
It’s no big surprise that MK gets the nod ahead of JT due to the status of the respective club, in a similar situation we all (most of us) prefer NP ahead of JP in the goals on a international basis, although Pickford did seem to have a good game tonight, it’s difficult to measure like for like because the circumstances are so different, the only way to know for sure is to give either players games in settled sides facing the exact same opposition & that’s the only way to measure.

I just love Tarky on the ball when he starts doing Cruyff turns although it does increase my anxiety somewhat

Re: James Tarkowski
Tarks has to be MOTM today, and he earned us a point with a fantastic goalline clearance, and if he was giving some players a rollicking good they deserved a rocket for that lethargic showing, and it shows his passion still burns strongly, even if he is probably off to pastures new in the summer.
The bigger question is who replaces him, and that's something we'd better have the answer too because he will need replacing, and no Kev Long isn't the answer.

Re: James Tarkowski
Everton fans were looking at the wrong person and we all knew that at the time.
Their managers at the time couldn't set up the team, they were all over the place and the defence wasn't getting any protection.
Plus Keane had an injury or two that he was carrying if I remember rightly.
Ancelotti knows how to set up a team to protect a back 4, hence the noticeable difference in Keane.

Re: James Tarkowski
tarks is phenomenal, he has to battle with sieve like midfielders letting all manner of rubbish through, time and time and time again. he puts in tackles, makes decisive passes, and has to double up on the goal line to save our bacon. Keane was never faced with similar onslaughts.
