Sam Gallagher punctured lung

Post by Milltown1882 » Sat Feb 20, 2021 11:07 pm

Horrific injury to have and best wishes to them down the other end of the M65.

Sam Gallagher is in hospital undergoing treatment on a possible punctured lung following Blackburn Rovers' defeat to Nottingham Forest, head coach Tony Mowbray has said.

Gallagher started the game at the City Ground but was substituted at half time, with Bradley Dack coming on to replace him in an attacking midfield role, as Forest earned a narrow 1-0 home win.

After the game, Mowbray said: "I'm concerned about Sam Gallagher who is in hospital after suffering a potential punctured lung. He was coughing blood at half-time.

"He fell flat on his back, it wasn't nice to see at half time him coughing up blood, the doctor got involved and he was taken to hospital awaiting an X-ray."

Sounds nasty. And wouldn’t fancy being in hospital with that sort of injury right now.

Best of luck to him.

Make me feel a little guilty for smiling to myself about today’s defeat. Best of luck to the lad, hopefully he’ll suffer no after effects.... not a good time to be having to stay in hospital, even a private hospital.

Best wishes to him. They lost another player today to a long term injury also.
I don’t like celebrating injuries. I’d rather they are just crap.

I read about the coughing blood at half time. Had hoped it was something and nothing but appears more serious.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

That is a serious injury, if true. Coughing blood doesn't mean a punctured lung though.

Hopefully, he's OK.
