Pleased for him as I saw Mike Duff linked with that job yesterday.

Good luck Joey. Definitely hasn't always been everybody's favourite or cup of tea, but he was brilliant for us and I always wish him well.

Yes, they definitely are "The Pirates" and it's even on their badge, so I don't understand this "Gas" thing, but it's been around for ages and no doubt someone on here will explain it.

Derogatory term "the Gas" given to Bristol Rovers by Bristol City fans, due to large gas works close to their old ground at Eastville, where the pungent smell of gas would sometimes waft across the stadium affecting those inside the ground.

It started as a derogatory term but they adopted it to throw it back in City’s face. We’re always The Pirates but more often referred to as the Gas now. Their fans call themselves Gasheads now.

Hmm! he's got a tough gig there, BR are only 2 points shy of the relegation zone, and it looks like 4 from 7 as only 5 points separate Burton at the foot and 18th placed Rochdale, so Joey will need to hit the ground running otherwise he might face the ignominy of a relegation on his managerial CV. and he really doesn't want that after the great job he performed at Fleetwood recently.

Not the first club to hit trouble after losing their leading marksman.

Jonson Clarke Harris now finding the back of the net regularly for the Posh.
