Richard Nartey

Came across well in interview. He seems very a level headed lad, and a fit with the Dyche ethos of signing players on their personality as well as their ability.

I've never seen him play but he's one of the u23s who have got themselves closer to the first team because of all the injuries so he must be impressing.

This is what Steve Stone said about him yesterday.

Richard Nartey is the same person, the same player every single day. He just comes out and gives quality and gives his best and that has been rewarded by praise by myself and recognition by the first team that he's been substitute.

He just has to be patient and wait for his time with the first team but if he continues doing what he's doing he'll definitely have a career in the game.

It's very difficult to leave a club like Chelsea with all that goes on there and all the players that they've got and come and be as humble and hard working as Richard's been over the last six or seven months that he's been here so that's credit to him.

He was a really interesting for the U23s, you don’t see many players have a good a season at league 1 level and then move to us.

Let’s hope he breaks through. Certainly looks comfortable on the ball anyway.

Tony am I right in thinking he plays RB as well as CB?

Pretty sure he played alongside Mason Mount etc a few years ago for Chelsea in a televised youth cup game. Not surprising he was surplus to requirements with their set up but thought he looked a decent player. So was surprised to learn he was at Burton. There's a player in there somewhere. He's a tidy player and passer.

In the few U23s games I've seen via the Internet, Richard Narty is one that catches the eye, looks a good athlete with good pace, strength, mobility and looks very composed on the ball.
Hope he gets a chance later in the season when we're safe.

Seems like a very smart, sensible guy. I guess at 22 he'll be needing to make a breakthrough soon or move on again. Refreshing attitude though, hopefully he makes it here.

Believe he has played at right back.

A young player to look out for in the near future by the sounds of it. It would be a big lift for everyone if another one came through like Dwight

I did wonder whether the club thought with his pedigree and experience he would be a cheap back up at RB for next season.

Jayden Bogle at Sheff Utd is only 20
Luke Thomas who looked very good at LB for Leicester on Sunday is only 19
At 22, having been schooled by Chelsea, there is hope that he comes good in the very near future
The idea of a replacement for Bardsley sounds like forward thinking

Thanks aggi, that was a good read and he is obviously a lad who has his head screwed on and is not afraid to work to make a success of things. I wish him all the best and have enjoyed watching him in the Under 23s and hope that he can step up when asked.

That's a very positive assessment.
He is clearly one of the more polished of the U23s, but it's difficult to picture him in the first team based on what we see from PL2 games.
Let's hope we can develop him into a full time PL squad member next season
