I think this is all the head-to-head meetings between the bottom 6. so it's fair to say these will be the crucial encounters, and yes I know every game matters, but these games will probably play a major part in each sides fate, and any team who can rack up a good number of points out of these fixtures will more than likely survive.

Re: Key Games
Actually not as many as I would have expected.
Good or bad it means they are playing teams further up the table.
Some of them will be going for European football and some will be on the beach.
C’est la vie.

Re: Key Games
West Brom are whining about their game with Everton being brought forward ...
"Sam Allardyce has accused the Premier League of being “very disrespectful” to West Brom by forcing them to play Everton next Thursday.
The Hawthorns clash will kick off at 6pm, only 66 hours before relegation-threatened Albion host fellow strugglers Newcastle at midday the following Sunday.
Albion have another relegation six-pointer against Brighton on Saturday and boss Allardyce said: “We have a big week to follow this week with the Everton game thrown in the middle, which we could have done without"
Awe Diddums ... get on with it like we did against Fulham and will do against Leicester ...

Re: Key Games
Would have been irellivent should we have done our job v Fulham and/or WBA.
We should have had a healthy gap by now with plenty of wriggle room.
Sadly come 4 games time I think theyll be no wriggle room and the pressure will be well and truely back on.
We should still survive though, although that Newcastle game when we get to it will be a very big one I think.

Re: Key Games
Don't necessarily agree. West Brom and Fulham only feature in 2 of those fixtures so the maximum they can get is 6 points. If they both win both of those fixtures then Newcastle will have lost 2 of them. Newcastle feature in 5 of those fixtures so if they win the 2 against West Brom & Fulham + 1 other they will probably be safe. Lot's of twists and turns yet to come.

Re: Key Games
Our last ‘key game’ was against Bournemouth in the cup. Our remaining games are just playing out the season. We’ll let the others play out their ‘key games’ as we try to finish in the top half.

Re: Key Games
I don’t get this. Sheff Utd and West Brom are on 11 and 14 points respectively. So their games really have no more bearing on the relegation scrap than any other game featuring the likes of Newcastle, Fulham and Brighton.

Spot on MACCA. We should have thrashed Fulham and West Brom and been breathing down Everton’s neck for a European place next season .MACCA wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 10:14 amWould have been irellivent should we have done our job v Fulham and/or WBA.

You’re right again, relegation awaits us in 4 games time. Are you sure we will survive?

Re: Key Games
Would love to see us take 6 pts off Spurs and Leicester. Is it likely, not really. However, it would make this whole conversation about key games maybe a little less tense. I also agree with others who have said “if we had just done our job against Fulham and WBA” this whole conversation would be very different. I’m also thankful that we didn’t drop 2 extra points to both of them. It’s tense, but I’d like to think we have a fair shout at staying up and would not mind all that much if Newcastle went down.
