Re: Favourite musicals
Not really my thing but took Mrs W to see “Hairspray” in Liverpool and it was a lot better than I expected.
It had Les Dennis and Michael Starke (Sinbad from Brookside) and for one scene they had to restart as they both got a fit of giggles and couldn’t stop.
I still find myself tapping my feet when I hear the songs being played now

Speaking of Shirley Bassey, and I know it’s not from a musical, but just how good a song is “diamonds are forever”?

Re: Favourite musicals
For me they have to have a good "book" / storyline /script, so:
West Side Story
Fiddler on the Roof
and Cabaret
Chicago is also superb though.

I hate musicals, and really detest show tunes, but Anne Hathaway’s acting as Fantine while singing in Miserable Les was amazing
