Not a surprise at all. Never seemed quite right for the role.

Re: Neil Hart - Burnley FC CEO - Departs
We need someone at the club who understands English football and the Premier League, it is important to have that knowledge and the contacts, Hart never had that, which I commented on at the time of his appointment, and again at the time of the takeover, he may have been fine as a Chief Operating Officer, but on the football business side we were considerably weaker for not having that experience, even with Garlick changing his role to Executive Chairman. Checketts can oversee (remember he employed Pace to do a similar job in the past) but I do not see him as the man on the groundNewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 5:07 pmAny idea whether the trip to US was a business or pleasure, CT?
I’m certainly hoping it was to sign up some new investors post-transaction, not to catch up with family and friends.
On the Hart stuff, pretty inevitable given how silent he’s been in recent months. Hope they bring in someone experienced, or Checketts!
On a side note, Hart was brought to the clubs attention by Sean Dyche, when they were first developing BFCitC, he also sanctioned Rigg's appointment. It is all getting interesting.
One thing is for sure the club will not build it's business capability without the right culture in place and it appears the new owners have begun to execute their plan having made a swift assessment of the situation on the ground.

Does this suggest Dyche’s problems with the boardroom/ back room staff are of his own making?Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 5:26 pm

Is there some justification for him flying all over the place when the rest of us can't?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 4:32 pmBig news here on UTC - CT & Papabendi agreeing on something.
Have to say I wasn't expecting it today although Alan Pace is back this week having been in the USA for past few weeks.

From what I believe, the manager's problems were with the former chairman.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 5:32 pmDoes this suggest Dyche’s problems with the boardroom/ back room staff are of his own making?

Those type of situations are rarely the result of one person, and you learn a lot more about people when you work with them. I have long thought that the rapid deterioration in the relationship between Dyche and Garlick was in part a result of Baldwin no longer being in the mix to manage the situationdjemba-djemba wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 5:32 pmDoes this suggest Dyche’s problems with the boardroom/ back room staff are of his own making?

Dyche was also fine with the £15 PPV from what I remember.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 4:41 pmHe's not a football fan, that's the problem. I said to someone at the time that he didn't understand football fans and the response I got was that he didn't understand football. While others, including managers like Bilic, Mourinho even and Bruce were condemning PPV he made that comment.

I once had a great relationship with a female CEO. MMMMM! Does that mean I should start getting my CV together?

Can I assume that Dave Baldwin is still available after leaving his last position.

I know you were disappointed at the lack of contact from BFCitC to supporters groups regarding the " Clarets for Foodbanks " initiative, Tony .... has that issue been resolved, may I ask ?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 5:17 pmBusiness I believe - went after the Brighton game but he said he intended being here overall 80% of the time

Not sure anyone knows more than you about Burnley, and your relationships with other CEOs are clearly an advantage?
On the downside it might mean you’d need to jack this in.

When we first set up we dealt with Paul France and Anita Orchard. Both sadly have left the Community now. Nothing, sadly, has been resolved.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 6:22 pmI know you were disappointed at the lack of contact from BFCitC to supporters groups regarding the " Clarets for Foodbanks " initiative, Tony .... has that issue been resolved, may I ask ?

BFCitC once tried to pull out of an event they were due at (and had been paid to attend) 5 minutes before it started. No warning at all before hand that it was going to prove difficult, just a text message received at 11:55 to say they couldn’t make the event due to start at 12:00.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 6:22 pmI know you were disappointed at the lack of contact from BFCitC to supporters groups regarding the " Clarets for Foodbanks " initiative, Tony .... has that issue been resolved, may I ask ?

Re: Neil Hart - Burnley FC CEO - Departs
I suspect the way Neil Hart reneged on his (signed) commitment to join Huddersfield after Burnley made him an offer said something about him tbh as even at the time i thought it was pretty poor form tbh. (I actually wasn't sure it was particularly good form from the club either)

I just wanted to say a HUGE thanks Tony. I went out for short walk earlier and popped in Tesco. Ended up picking up a box of 6 mini Krispy Kreme Donuts. I put them in my backpack and had forget all about them till I read your post. Thank You.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 4:46 pmI think the only Tony Scholes who would be in with a chance of that job is man I used to refer to as The Imposter who is currently at Stoke.
In truth I wouldn't know where to start with a CEO job, it's way beyond me. Relationship with other CEOs - I would challenge anyone not to get on well with such as Dave Edmondson and Paul Fletcher. Lee Hoos was difficult at first but he went up so much in my estimation when we had our final meeting with him because he brought us all Krispy Kreme Donuts. Seriously though, had my moments with Lee but generally got on well with him. Dave Baldwin was totally different, the best CEO we've had in my view in terms of supporter engagement. He was everything the Bradford City fans told me he would be.
But this job is not all about supporter engagement, and it's certainly not being able to get on with me and my tantrums. I just hope we get someone who is good for the club as I believe, in different ways, the four previous ones were.

Re: Neil Hart - Burnley FC CEO - Departs
Neil Hart didn't like the Foodbank, probably didn't get him enough publicity, and prior to him moving over to the club he was trying to shut the whole thing down. Then, suddenly, it became all important because of the increased numbers needing it and he was all over it again.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 6:32 pmBFCitC once tried to pull out of an event they were due at (and had been paid to attend) 5 minutes before it started. To answer my own question above it appears he is as only involved in RIASA as far as I can see.

Definitely not - The Premier League is due to report on it Strategic Review - initiated by Project Big Picture in the next few weeks - I have been tracking the bits of gossip about it on the MMT thread - the big clubs still want everything by the way
Re: Neil Hart - Burnley FC CEO - Departs
I am confused as to why knowing lots about football has a bearing on a view and drawing the right conclusion on the PPV issue, because I dont think there necessarily is one. I could explain the concept to someone who knows nothing about football in about 5mins and they could form a view.
Some people were for the idea, a lot were against it. I was for it from an economic realism point of view. I understood the opposite view, however, there is pain to come make no bones, for supporters, so if it is not PPV it will be something else. I just didnt get the hysterics.

Glad I’m not the only Burnley fan to have been snubbed personally by the now ex CEO.
From my experience he did not want to help other small community groups that wanted to work with him , in fact he actively condoned his staff in giving no support to my disability venture.

Yeah, it’s a strangely short statement. You’d expect he might’ve said a few words on his departure.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 7:24 pmthere is a very short piece on the website, which is all about looking for a replacement in reality - guess they did not think much of him like many on here

It is plausible that he has just decided to seek other opportunities given he must know a new shareholder will want to bring his own men in eventually. He may have jumped before being pushed? We’ll find out by how quickly Alan finds his replacement!
