FA inquiry into Child Abuse in football.
Report has been released in full this afternoon, but this is the first comment I've seen about it.

Shocking, an industry awash with money and the weakest and most vulnerable in society simply not protected.

Re: FA inquiry into Child Abuse in football.
Back in the 1980s my oldest son was on QPR's books as a youth player and I was very wary about one of the guys involved in procuring players for their system. He held down the job until 2003 when he suddenly left the club who did not acknowledge his 30 year's service. He died the following year, aged 57 and the club was not represented at his funeral.
It transpired later that there were a lot of strange things which he had done, including ringing lads up during the night, buying them skimpy underwear etc.
I was a good friend of the club kit manager at the time and we have discussed this a few times since then and came to the conclusion that he was very crafty about who he approached and this is why he was never suspectedd of anything at the time.
My son still works in the area and is in contact with several ex-youth players and two of them certainly have tales to tell. Shocking business!

I agree 100% but instances like that things need exposing whilst the people who are involved are still alive, take Jimmy saville it all really emerged after he had died, I’m not sticking up for anybody but dead people can’t defend themselves, you need more transparency when people are alive so you can really find the truth out.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 2:03 pmBack in the 1980s my oldest son was on QPR's books as a youth player and I was very wary about one of the guys involved in procuring players for their system. If it wasn't being covered up while they were alive that may have happened.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 2:21 pmI agree 100% but instances like that things need exposing whilst the people who are involved are still alive, take Jimmy saville it all really emerged after he had died, I’m not sticking up for anybody but dead people can’t defend themselves, you need more transparency when people are alive so you can really find the truth out.

I see Dario Gradi, who's still suspended from football since 2016, got a mention in the report.

It hasn't been received well though.
