Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
There were a lot of good things for half an hour “to pick the bones out of”.
Considering the game is an additional hour longer than our good half hour, there must be a half eaten carcass of bad things left to pick over for the remainder!
Next week is bloody massive now!

“a little bit of naivety” - classic Dyche understatement.
A very naive 60 minutes after a dream start, played like headless chickens particularly our normal rocks Mee and Tarks.

Fortunately, most of the time, we don't let a one goal lead slip away to defeat let alone a two goal lead.
Good players sometimes make a mistake, it's that difference that stops them being seen as great players.
I'm not for hanging anyone after today...

We will regroup and beat Newcastle despite the loss today
Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
"We flatlined for 15 mins in the first half and in the second half it was a bit of a ding dong"
24 attempts to 7 seems to tell a different story
When the spine of defense and midfield play so poorly we have to accept it was a deserved loss
If Cork was not seen as good enough to replace either Westwood or Brownhill what was the point of him being on the bench

Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
The poor decisions came from Mr Dyche who once again showed that he cannot react to changes made by the opposition!

That dastardly Dyche, eh?Sunny Cornwall wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 10:24 pmThe poor decisions came from Mr Dyche who once again showed that he cannot react to changes made by the opposition!
Just think where we'd be if we didn't have him hanging around the club like a demonic millstone.

Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
I agree entirely that he has done a great job overall. Unfortunately in some games he just gets tactically out smarted and doesn't seem to be able to react. Perhaps that's why after 8 years of success with us he is still here!
Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
As good as he is, he has to take some criticism for that 60 mins as well as the players. Clear to see some weren't at it, and he chose not to change it. But he can't be held accountable for some glaring errors by normally decent players.
Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
One day posters will understand that criticism of Dyche, no matter how valid, should not be written on this board.
Preferably, said criticism should not be disseminated in spoken word or contemplated in conscious thought, either, but we've not got round to the logistics of policing those bits yet.

Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
It is the inconsistency that keeps me being a claret.
We had a lead and didn't defend it.
We played brilliantly in the first 30min and Vydra scored.
Defense had a nightmare after pieters went off.
I genuinely do not know which team which Burnley team will turn up for any match BFC RNG.
I think we will be lucky to get 35 points this season.
But Dyche's inflexible tactics are beginning to irritate me and he needs to leave.

Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
It’s easy to over analyse & pick faults, but at the end of day a unpredictable near enough full strength Southampton side will never be pushovers, bad day at the office I was listening to Steve Bruce post match reflecting on the draw today talking about responding, we need to have that same attitude because if we comparing the same performances today like for like we’ll get beat again next time. Newcastle seem to be improving whilst we are stuck in the traps thinking we have passed the finishing line.

Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
We were beaten by a team with several players which are on different level to ours. If a certain Mr Ings didn't have his injuries, a certain Mr Kane would not be leading England's attack
Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
Harry Kane has had plenty of injuries as well. Ings, good as he is would never have been considered good enough to play for any team in Europe, whereas Kane would walk into any team.
Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
Either way, we got away with it yesterday, we are still 7 ponts clear and a game less to play. We play the next game after Fulham play theirs, if Fulham lose, the pressure will be off slightly
Re: ARTICLE: We made some poor decisions at key moments
Hasenhüttl clearly picked a team to attack us with 2 wide players in basically a front 4. At 2-0 it looked like it was an error on his part but Ings turned it round with 1 superb assist and a solo goal where he took on Mee Tarks and Pope. Pieters was also a big loss. Not blaming Taylor but Pieters and McNeil link up so well together
