Villa v Fulham
Not sure the powers that be want Fulham relegated ! Penalty rescinded and a gift goal ???
Re: Villa v Fulham
Penalty rightly rescinded. Mings gifted the goal not the powers that be.

It's surely a wake up call for our forthcoming game against Newcastle. Lose that and we are dragged completely back into a relegation situation. Not that we have ever really been away from it.

Re: Villa v Fulham
Next week was big anyway, now it's flipping massive, and if Fulham see this out suddenly Brighton are back in the mix again.
We only have ourselves to blame for being in this pickle, a win today and we'd have been on easy street, now it's suddenly got a damned sight harder than it could have been.

Agree, two defeats and we're in the ****tiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 6:06 pmNext week was big anyway, now it's flipping massive, and if Fulham see this out suddenly Brighton are back in the mix again.

That certainly helps our cause, don't mind Fulham getting a point as long as they don't get all 3.

If Fulham lose I suspect they won't recover.

Trezeguet should be awarded the freedom of Burnley after that couple of minutes. Talk about an impact sub.

If Fulham get nothing from this game they won't and don't deserve to stay up.
Villa were there for the taking and Fulham have never look good enough to capitalise

Re: Villa v Fulham
No a defeat here will make their task difficult, and bear in mind they only have 7 matches remaining after today, and all the other teams around them have 8, or in Brighton's case 9, so they really do need to put points on the board ASAP.

Will keep the Sky Sports presenters quiet who would want us down and their favourites Fulham and Brighton to stay up.

Re: Villa v Fulham
Do you really think today's result had such an effect? We've still more points at this stage than all but two of our previous Premier League seasons.

Re: Villa v Fulham
Villa were only poor up to Smith taking off their 2 ineffective central midfielders . Then it was a different team who pressed Fulham more effectively and started playing good football.
Fulham are a poor side
Fulham are a poor side
Re: Villa v Fulham
If we were to mess it up, even before this weekend we deserve to be relegated to be honest. To throw away 7 points at this stage would be very poor indeed.

Had Fulham held onto that lead then he’s absolutely right that survival could have been in question.
Re: Villa v Fulham
Probably should have had a - more directed to the comments earlier on the thread reacting to Fulham’s lead.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 6:31 pmDo you really think today's result had such an effect? We've still more points at this stage than all but two of our previous Premier League seasons.
And to be fair, a Fulham win would have made things difficult for us and next week’s bigger than it now is
