Dyche to Palace at the end of the season

Multi-millionaire hiking the streets of London searching for properties. What a load of old shite.

All things come to an end. Whoever is in charge, I hope they get some backing unlike SD over the past few years.

Apart from money, WHY would he?

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Not saying any more than no it wouldn't put a hole in their plans at all. It's not ideal for them but Dyche going is more likely now than it ever was under Garlick.
Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
If I was Dyche and had to face another inept transfer window would I be looking around. Yes. If I was Dyche would I leave the security of Burnley and a club that stand by you to go to a club that sacked a new manager after losing just 4 games. ? Not on your nelly. Not convinced about the travelling either. Think I’d prefer to drive to Burnley from Kettering than South London but as it’s only twice a week wouldn’t make a lot of difference.

This is as closer to the truth than some would like and some would hope far. Palace are actively looking to fill in for Roy who retires this year.
Dyche is top of the list and he gets all of the zaha money to spend plus ano 40m i believe, that’s the carrot

Dyche will NOT be leaving Burnley for some time yet. Besides eggs are cheaper up here.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
So not a lot then considering Zaha's contract runs out next year.
I believe Palace are hoping for £30-40 million for Zaha if he goes this summer.
Chuck it in with your claim of an extra £40 million, then potentially 12 players leaving for free and that's a lot of work to do this summer and clubs know Palace have money.
Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Haven't a number on this board including myself been saying or certainly thinking the same thing for a few months now. Old news.

To be fair a 70-80 million quid budget and he gets to build the squad he wants is not a bad deal. Especially when you think the core of the team could still be there in Eze, Milejovic, Kouyate, Ayew, Guita.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 9:10 pmSo not a lot then considering Zaha's contract runs out next year.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Dyche will now be totally minted, and needs to invest somehow, so he could easily be buying a second home or relocating the family home for something family related, like a top private college for his daughter or a work opportunity. He may go to Palace, but it is hard to see it as a step up.
Ultimately he has to judge when to move on, and until we get relegated there aren’t many better places without a bigger risk of an early sacking and then the Championship. That division is littered with managers who were once the next big thing (Pearson, Mowbray, Hughton etc). There aren’t many options at our level for managers.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
If Eddie and his family could now settle in the area would you have him back?
Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
In today’s market that might get him a McNeil; a Tarkowski and maybe a Pope (not necessarily those players of course). How about the rest of the vanishing squad?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 9:18 pmTo be fair a 70-80 million quid budget and he gets to build the squad he wants is not a bad deal. Or he could get 4 or 5 cheaper players, and still struggle.
Yeah, can see the appeal...
He’s not going to Palace. If (and it’s a big IF) he goes this summer it will be to a bigger club in the big smoke IMO.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Of the players leaving this season I think only three of them are regular starters. so you could argue the 70-80m budget could be spent 4-5 first team players and the rest is just getting rid of the dead wood.Zlatan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 9:34 pmIn today’s market that might get him a McNeil; a Tarkowski and maybe a Pope (not necessarily those players of course). Would leave him in a considerably stronger position than what it is currently looking like with Burnley. At the end of this season don’t we have a recognised senior squad of 15 players?
(I am genuinely asking the question here as I have no idea who has recently signed contract extensions).

Will be surprised as above if Palace don’t go for an out of work manager like Howe or Lampard. Haven’t they also got a load of players out of contract this summer?
Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Perhaps we will buy Zaha. That would sort it!

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
I think Palace could be the suprise package that goes down next season. Lots of players out of contract, Wilf possibly to leave, and all of a sudden they may be in a position where lots of new faces just dont gel and they're in trouble. I'm having a tenner on them anyway!!
Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Whatever happens then I hope it's decided relatively quickly.
I can't see Palace paying Dyche much more than us or having a huge transfer
budget unless they get 50m+ for Zaha.
I suspect Dyche will want to see what the new owners are likely to be offering.
But probably not a great amount.

List of players OOC this summer.
Including Cahill, Dann, Benteke (not a bad thing ), Townsend and some others.
That £80 million won't go far if the club are unable or unwilling to tie some of this lot down to new deals.
Plus according to the link, the coaching staff are also yet to sign deals beyond this summer.
It's a different challenge, like I've said and I'd understand the attraction, but it's not a step up and comes with a great deal of risk

Only Dyche can answer that. But £5m a year. In complete control of the club. With a job as safe as anyones. Adored by 99% of the fans. With a legacy...
Plenty of reasons he wont have left.
I can guarantee that when he does he won't be leaving for a championship job.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Dyche is off to WBA at the end of the season.
Luchi Gonzalez was in the frame to replace but apparently he only has a B license.
Pace is looking for a Spanish speaking "name" as manager for marketing purposes.
Is it a coincidence that Xavi's contract finishes at the end of May?

I'm keeping up, he was potted due to poor results.
Plus Ashley hadn't been there long and still believed he had to keep the fans happy by giving them who they wanted as manager.

Plus, in the real world people do contact companies when there's a vacancy even if they're already employed elsewhere.
I know I've done it several times.

So what... He was a different manager then compared to now.
He's also managed in Europe, taken us to a higher league finish than Palace have ever managed and all by spending less money.
Those things matter to clubs, maybe not to the likes of you, but that doesn't matter.

It’d be a stranger move than Coyle to Bolton for me.
I’m also convinced that they’ll be relegated before us.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
Wilf wont command more than £15m,the money post Covid isnt there any more and an out of work manager is free of any compo to the club. So Palace wont employ a manager whose employed elsewhere.
Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
I wouldn't be surprised to see Dyche leave in the summer, Dyche has previously been frustrated in windows at the lack of funds and we now have less funds to strengthen. We haven't really been progressing for a while, the club/squads gone incredibly stale, we are on a downward trend with an aging squad and we don't have the funds to really stop the rot.
Palace could be a tough job, I remember hearing they had 10+ first team players out of contract in the summer and isn't the owner looking to sell? wouldn't be surprised to see Palace struggle next year regardless of who is manager there.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
That's more tripe, Palace have done well to stay in the league for years, like us. Why does it matter if you finish 10th one time or 7th one time?GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 3:07 pmTheir highest ever league finish whilst in the PL is 10th.
Their higher wage bill isn't exactly providing good value for money.
They have been in the PL for 8 consecutive years, compared to our 6. Who is more successful?
Also wage budget will rise yearly naturally, they're 2 years further down the line of paying PL wages. I think both wage bills are providing great value for money providing it provides PL football for the clubs.
