Isn’t it BFC in the Community who fund the Women?
Re: BFC Women
West Ham have won 11 - 0, Arsenal won 10 - 0. Sheff Utd won 9 - 0.

Re: BFC Women
That was a bit like Man U v Clitheroe or something, and I'm not being disrespectful. They are full time and we are not.

Hopefully the club will do the right thing then and pay Padiham for the pitch hire they were supposed to play on today before a late switch to Leyland.

Re: BFC Women
No having seen some of the cricket scores racked up 6-0 is almost respectable. They are a team packed full of world-class internationals, whereas we are still a part-time outfit, just to even make this stage is signs of progress, and it will serve the ladies well to be on the same pitch as this standard of opposition, it can only be viewed as part of the learning process however tough a heavy defeat will be too take.

Re: BFC Women
it is very respectable given some of the results within the WSL itself during the season - they have been a credit to themselves the town and the clubtiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:00 pmNo having seen some of the cricket scores racked up 6-0 is almost respectable. Re: BFC Women
Not a bad result, I believe some of our good players were cup tied as well.
Be a good experience for the team.

Re: BFC Women
Did they actually switch to Leyland? Disappointing if so and a strange one given that we’ve moved our last three U23 games from Leyland.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 3:58 pmHopefully the club will do the right thing then and pay Padiham for the pitch hire they were supposed to play on today before a late switch to Leyland.

Re: BFC Women
Was only able to watch the first ten minutes. Shame they couldn’t nick a goal.
How did they play generally.
Not a terrible result given the others. Hope ALK invest and get the womens team to the WSL.

Re: BFC Women
Word on the street is they’d verbally asked Padiham for the pitch at short notice - obviously they didn’t want to book it too early as they didn’t know they’d be playing until they beat Sunderland last week.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:51 pmDid they actually switch to Leyland? That of course is not a problem and it seems they usually do leave it quite late in some cases to book the pitch which is generally fine. Padiham had turned down a request from another club to accommodate the Women’s team having been asked to play the game at the Arbories.
Then in the middle of last week Burnley announce the game is being played elsewhere without informing anyone at Padiham of the decision. It’s all Padiham volunteers who do the behind the scenes work on a match day for them.
As mentioned, hopefully they do pay the bill for the unused booking.

Re: BFC Women
That’s hugely disappointing. We should always be helping the local clubs never mind doing this to them.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:03 pmWord on the street is they’d verbally asked Padiham for the pitch at short notice - obviously they didn’t want to book it too early as they didn’t know they’d be playing until they beat Sunderland last week.

Re: BFC Women
Wouldn't surprise me if the concern was pitch quality the united manager had made a comment about the state of the Leyland pitch "having a few bobbles" that were far from ideal in her pre-match press conference - suspect the belief would have been that the arbories would have been a bit more rustic than thatClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:09 pmThat’s hugely disappointing. Re: BFC Women
Surely then with Burnley having the home draw they’d want to play a team like Utd on what you are suspecting is a worse pitch?Chester Perry wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:30 pmWouldn't surprise me if the concern was pitch quality the united manager had made a comment about the state of the Leyland pitch "having a few bobbles" that were far from ideal in her pre-match press conference - suspect the belief would have been that the arbories would have been a bit more rustic than that

Re: BFC Women
Pretty certain UTD said they wanted it moving because the facilities they needed were not available at Padiham. Not necessarily the pitch

Re: BFC Women
I don’t know whether there’s some sort of rules that state Utd can make demands around the facilities or not - could well be. The facilities at Padiham I’d have thought would be adequate enough anyway.Loyalclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 7:52 pmPretty certain UTD said they wanted it moving because the facilities they needed were not available at Padiham. The point really here is Burnley booking it and not cancelling or informing Padiham that the plans had changed.

Women’s football is big now. It won’t be long before the Burnley ladies team and manager is eaten up and replaced by strangers playing under the name of BFC. Progress , don’t be insulted !
