Man Utd next I believe, that'll be a tough test, but it'll be a good gauge as to how far we've come, and how much progress we still need to make.
Always good to read positive news about all levels of the club including the ladies team.

They've done really well without much training but what a reward. Playing a professional team will be a tough task - come on you Clarets

I’m going to make an effort to take my daughter up and watch one before the season finishes.
A few in my family have played for them over the years, as well as the enemy, they played on parks back then though

I am not up on women's footie. Is this 'local women' playing football, in their spare time, against the professional elite?

I think at the moment the Burnley women would be classed as semi-pro or perhaps amateur. Though Alan Pace did an interview recently to confirm the ladies team now all train at Barnfield, we have plans for a ladies academy and he is aiming to be in the Championship within the next 5 years. A good article below about it before we played Sunderland from BBC:

According to Twitter it looks like their cup fixture with Man U will be moved to Leyland from their usual ground at Padiham FC.
Bit of a downer for Padiham if true.

Are there any plans to get an actual facility in Burnley for the girls/U23’s?? And why can’t they use the Turf? Surely a football pitch can host more than one game every two weeks??

My son has a 1pm game so will only make second half but a shame it’s not on TV.

I use the "Mikel Arteta Guide To Good Playing Surfaces" to ascertain pitch quality.

exactly what you would expect from fully professional internationals against amateurs - they have done great to get there

This hiding just shows the true gulf between the top WSL teams who have huge backing, and the rest who are trying to emerge and compete on a level playing field.
Man City won 8-0 against Aston Villa yesterday, so it's not only the Clarets suffering this weekend,

To be fair there's been similar results because of the gulf in mens football in recent times.

True but this just highlights the huge gulf in class and money that exists even in the women's game, and now all the PL teams are ploughing big bucks into their women's teams this gap will more likely grow than close.
We have to remember it's a long-term project for Pace, hence why it's better to assess any progress in 5 years time when we can make a proper judgement.
It was only a few years ago that Man Utd women were in the lower reaches of the women's pyramid, of course the difference is they have the money to throw at it, and they probably also have a bigger potential fanbase than the likes of Burnley.
