I feel reassured as so many posters on here have said we have no chance of relegation at all.

Our 2 chances to avoid a relegation scrap, was to collect points against Southampton and Newcastle, and or hope Fulham will find there run in too tough. We failed on the first and as I post this Fulham are winning at Arsenal.

The bookies still have no confidence in either WBA or Fulham staying up. You can still get 10/1 for the Clarets to drop.

Fulham away and Sheff Utd away, we need something from those games.

I still hope we don't go to Sheff Utd on the last day needing something, for as bad as they have been.. if we go into that game with the massive pressure of needing something, against a Sheff Utd side with no fear/relaxed/future places to play for etc.. that would be scary.

Scary??? It’s a game of bloody football! I’m sick to death of the negative fans talking about relegation! It’s like most are waiting to say ‘I told you so’! Have some faith in the manager and the team it’s not about today we will probably get beat. But I have every faith in us to stay up.

We have our swings. Lose a couple results dont go our way
We then tend to pick up points out of nowhere and it goea back in our favour
We draw or win at fulham we are safe

It would be scary, in the sense of relegation and talking in a comptetive sport way (not talking about life and death) as I want us to stay up.
Maybe I should have said nervous, as it will be a nervy situation. I think you have jumped on what I put abit too much.

Maybe there are some told you so fans waiting with the knifes sharpened, but I'm certainly not one!

Could Fulham beat us and Newcastle at home, in which case we have to find one more point

Could they also beat Southampton away - not impossible

WBA not likely to pick up any more than 6 points from their remaining games

It's in our hands so no excuses

Play like we did today and it will be sorted

Next Sunday, away to Wolves, will be a good guide to the strength of our sides mentality

If ever a club (and quite a large proportion of its supporters) needed a wake up call, it’s this one.

If we survive this season, which we should, it’s time we stopped believing a good season means we’re automatically safe the next year, and started demanding we make genuine improvements to the starting XI regularly.

I honestly don't fear Fulham they have had enough chances to get out of the mess but fail at every turn.

West Brom have some real winnable fixtures left and with their confidence running high I can see them picking up a further 9 pts.

We are more than capable of picking up 7pts from our remaining fixtures, so can't see a problem.

All these arse twitches need to take a chill pill and enjoy life because there is no way we are going down this season

That’s true, the way some people think on here it’s more than possible that West Brom & Fulham will escape & burnley & Newcastle will be relegated, probably even past the 90th minute last night the game against wolves, Sheffield United were looking likely at the expense of somebody else, you can look at things logically & realistically or alternatively you can donate the contents of your cranium to float away into the clouds somewhere.

To be mathematically certain of stopping up we need to win four and draw one if Fulham and West Brom win every game.

A variety of different scenarios exist where the results can be like for like & we will be ok, we can even afford to lose a couple whilst they win & still be ok providing the GD is returned, providing we match the the results like for like we will be ok. That’s all there is to it. It doesn’t even have to be consistently like for like in our favour for every game. People are complicating simple things, a pt was gained this weekend, based on a game every single week a point being gained its 6 weeks to even draw level.

It is highly unlikely either Fulham or West Brom
will win all their remaining games but either could win 2 or 3
of their remaining games and possibly draw one or 2 as well.
No more unlikely than us not winning any of our remaining games
although of the two I think West Brom are the most likely to win another 2 or 3
given they have won their last two

It's game by game and counting down.
West Brom face Leicester on Thursday and Fulham Chelsea away
before they play us. We play Wolves next Sunday so we'll know
how West Brom have fared against Leicester.

We need to start gaining a few points so not losing to Wolves becomes
significant. That's not going to be easy but hopefully we're capable of coming away
with at least a point.

Must not lose games are coming thick and fast but that was the case 3 games ago when we faced
Southampton and Newcastle and we managed to lose both from positions where we were
in the lead in both.

Certainly do not wish to be going into the last game against Sheff. United
having to win or get a draw.

ideal scenario is a point at Wolves and a win at Fulham.
Certainly can't afford to lose against Fulham.

every week the motd pundits say without hesitation how convinced they are we will be safe, dion dublin did it tonight with a casual shrug, so if we base out optimism on them, we are fine.
despite weekly slide into danger zone. now just above the dotted line.

Fulham Magic number is 10 with 5 games to play. We still we still have 6 to play. If we can average a point a game then Fulham could only afford to lose 1 game. They’re at Chelsea next so a defeat there would be catastrophic especially if we get anything at Wolves. Worst case scenario is we could be only 3 points ahead when we go to Fulham. If we go down it will be 100% our own fault

Whilst accepting that there is a possibility of us going down and it could all go wrong anybody thinking we will go down at the minute us extremely pessimistic and clearly hasn’t looked at our remaining fixtures. If we don’t get another 4 points out of them then we will deserve to go down. I can’t see Fulham getting many more points today will destroy them. West Brom need to win 3 more games to even get to our points total now I can’t see them getting more than 10 points. Anyway if one of them overtake us best of luck to them, it is possible but not very likely.

Fulham have 5 games left. In their last 5 games we've extended our lead on them by 2 points (and with a game in hand). Wish we'd got more out of the last 3 matches but Fulham have more to do in fewer games than they did a month ago.

I know it's the same for everyone in theory, but I think the lack of crowds has affected us more than others. Our home form has suffered dramatically. I think we'd have sneaked a few more tight games at home this season if we'd had the fans behind us. Look how Sheff U have fallen away.

8-1 with Betfred who had us at 9-1. It depends on where you look.
Interesting that Fulham was 1/5 1/6 to go down - they are now 1/12 with some bookies.

There seems to be a concentration on Fulham being the club to be relegated. Beware WBA.
Big Sam has got them organised and they are playing well as a unit. Currently on 24 points their next 3 games will take them up to the 8th May when Burnley play Fulham. Those 3 games are all against Midland based clubs. Leicester first up on 22/4. No doubt planning for the cup final may feature. Then 3 days later on the 25th Aston Villa and then Wolves on 1st May both of whom may already be powering down and planning for next season after the hectic and tiring compression of almost 2 seasons into 1. On the 8th May they have Arsenal away and we have Fulham away. We could be on equal points going into this round of games. We need to get something from the Wolves and/ or West Ham games. Hopefully we too may have an advantage against Wolves should they be in end of season mode. We need to make sure we can go for 90 minutes and use the bench to maximum effect in the run in.

No surprise in those Fulham odds, they only have 5 to play, and they probably have to win at least 2 or more likely 3 of those 5, not impossible but unlikely, and even if they did beat Burnley, Newcastle & Southampton, which are their most winnable fixtures on paper anyway, that would still only take them to 36 points, and it's hard not to see both Brighton and Burnley getting 4 points from our remaining games.

West Brom could be more of a threat coming up on the rails, they are at least showing fight putting a few wins on the board and scoring goals, plus they have BFS who's a master of the survival scrap, they still have a lot to do, but if they could beat Leicester on Thursday that would crank up the pressure on Brighton and especially Burnley.

I'm hoping Leicester haven't been celebrating too much following their first FA Cup final since 1969. James Maddison seems to be a bit of a loose cannon in that respect, along with a couple of other players having breached Covid restrictions recently. Could easily see WBA sensing blood in that respect.

I still think they'll go down along with Fulham, but those odds do surprise me, they still have 7 games to play, and they are showing signs that they are capable of winning, if they win at Leicester that will be 3 wins on the spin, and we've lost 3 on the bounce, so momentum is definitely in their favour even though they still have a mountain to climb.
