Fair play to the Chelsea fans, good to know they are still at Stamford Bridge somewhere.

Now we have no idea what got them to change course, but if fans preventing a game being able to go ahead does the trick, we should mobilise and stop the other 5 being able to play games. I could just imagine Old Trafford being surrounded by fans in multiple club colours in a peaceful process which just means the players cannot get to the ground. Now that would be amazing if we could pull that off.

Unconfirmed reports Chelsea have decided to pull out of the super league. Fans were blocking the players entrance and have now walked away after Petra Cech spoke to the supporters.
Hmm! could we see a domino effect now?

Chelski now bottling it, I don't think they anticipated the fans reaction.

Looks like theyre going to crumble.

Not over yet but there needs to be a punishment for all the clubs who declared their hand once the battle is won.

And the opportunity needs to be taken to remove all their insidious anti-competition tricks and scams including the "coefficients".

Chelsea can have their cold night in Stoke if the Premier League relegates them for this effrontery.

Good news if Chelsea pull out, it opens the door for Citeh, who don't need the money or the ESL, to follow.
If the big 12 become the little 10 it will die a death on its own.

But it also opens the door for the 14 other teams in the Prem to put in place some much needed changes to stop this from reoccurring every 2 years in another guise.

Dropping out - no strings attached needs to be the approach here, as a minimum. I’d be penalising them on top of this.

Was all this just a bluff then, for the big teams to gauge the reaction - had it been positive they'd have done it, but now they can pull out and spin it like 'they've listened to the fans' and 'right for the game' etc.

I think they’ve gone to far, there will be severe punishments, or at least a releveling of the haves and have nots. This could end up have being just what the leagues needed if they play their cards right. It was beyond disgusting and I doubt many will be willing to brush it off.

Blimey! they can't wait to pull out now, what has changed their minds so quickly. it can't purely be down to the fan backlash surely, they must have expected this kind of reaction, so it makes me wonder what developments have occurred this evening to cause them to back out.

I still think the fact Bayern and PSG aren't interested has played a major part in these u-turns, let's be honest where's the benefit for Chelsea and City to play teams like Atlético, Inter & Juve, there's no glamour in those games that I can see, so beyond Barca and Real I don't see the attraction for the broadcasters, and that's more likely to have played a part then any morals from either English club.

Credit to the clubs involved who have listened to their fans, recognised they have made a big mistake and are now taking action to rectify the situation.

Get it closed down tonight, act like it never happened and everyone's a winner baby

I agree points deductions would be a start. But how that would work under PL rules I have no idea, and no doubt they'd immediately get their lawyers to fight any such move.

Premier League rules state that you aren't allowed to join any other competition without prior approval.

They certainly announced their intent to break this rule but the PL needs legal advice on whether this evident intent is enough to justify a punishment.

Just maybe the fact the government was going to get involved added the final straw, being as Labour said they would support action as well. They could have lost control of the clubs they bought.

Looks like it’s fallen like a pack of cards. Surprise to me thought they would have pushed this further. They now have less power with the controlling bodies not more IMO.

Chelsea were likely to be the weakest link, firstly because of the pitch issues, but also because the chairman is a football fan with loads of money rather than a person with loads of money that bought a football club. I have a feeling that the man city sheik might fall into that category too.
If their change of heart causes a collapse, then good for them.
There are a lot of people who have done themselves huge credit here, ranging from shearer and Wright to James cordon, who I suddenly have a bit more respect for.

That real madrid have emerged as ringleaders is no surprise. Their greed with the Spanish TV rights has led to their league being completely uncompetitive for years and hence even if they and Barcelona cream off most of the loot, their swag bag is still not big enough as an uncompetitive league is not particularly marketable. You would have thought they would have learned.
Football isn't dying. It is dying in Spain, and it is their greed that killed it.

I hope now that the remaining 4 now pisss right off. Roma and lazio can make up the numbers. Losing a couple of mediocre London clubs and the two others that attract glory hunters won't do anywhere near as much damage as losing 6. Rangers and celtic can make up 2 of the places with hibs and the fourth placed club joining the championship followed by a division into North and south below.

Yep it's a tricky one, however if they signed contracts, which according to the RM guy all the clubs did, then that could be seen as joining another competition, but as ever with these things it'll be tough to prove for the PL, and if there's any significant punishments I'll be

Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal, Athletico and Barca all out. Crumbling faster than my apple crumble took to bake on Sunday.

Smoke and mirrors possibly, I don’t know.

I believe tho that the clubs pulling out will try to have us all believe they didn’t really want to be involved in the first place.

We aren’t being told the whole story, and I doubt we we ever will.

Anyone still doubting me?

Champions League changes approved yesterday without a noise.

We're being played.
Whilst it does look like your right.

Two execs have effectively made themselves redundant.

They have signed contracts which will cost them.

They now have legal costs to pay.

This will have cost those clubs a lot of money.

I believe this was a genuine attempt to start a new league.
