Oakworth claret

Post by Quickenthetempo » Sun Apr 18, 2021 10:04 am

I've just come to watch the lad play football at Bronte playing fields in Oakworth near Keighley and was greeted by a Clarets flag in one of the gardens backing on to it.
Nice little treat to see on this fine morning.

Does the owner post on here?

Keep flying that flag with pride mate.

Likewise when I travel over from Flixton to visit mum in Turfcote Care Home in Haslingden there’s a magnificent clarets flag in the front garden of a home right opposite that we can see from mums room - marvellous!!

There’s a flag outside one of the houses, just past Bradley on the Leeds to Liverpool. Plenty of us over this way.

I really should show my colours in some way! I might have a small crest made to add to the new front gate when we get it.

Is the one you mention at Kildwick on the canal edge, I couldn't think of another on there.

I remember driving past that flag on the way to Charlton to see us win the championship in May 2016, it was around 7am and I gave it a long blast on the horn

Hi Quickenthetempo
Yes that’s my flag
Glad it’s being seen
Takes a battering from the wind from penistone hill. It’s the second one I’ve used. One more to go

Great place to watch football.

Great views on the bottom pitches. Sat on the hill in the sunshine.

It was a great place to play football too👍 And a bit of cross country, though the wind could whistle and the rain and hail could sweep in quickly.
