To be fair, I think Wood is having a very decent game, and I'm one of his critics normally.

What scares me is that Utd might bring Cavani on. Then I think we'll be in trouble.

Perhaps you should occasionally give Vydra some credit then?
His goals per game ratio is as good as Wood.

Re: Matchday thread
Good half.
Wood and Cork playing v.well.
Brownhill's getting under their skins.
Need to keep our concentration and solidity at the back. Can't afford to turn off.

Re: Matchday thread
Whenever Vydra was a sub, he tended to come on far too late. But at 0-0, there's an argument to keep things as they are.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:53 pmSeems an obvious choice, Brownhill offers nothing going forward, Vydra very hard done by to be missing here

Re: Matchday thread
Good 1st 45, we appear to have rediscovered our strong jaw again.
BPF strong when called upon, and the pathetic diving from Rashford shows how frustrated Utd are becoming.

Why would you put Vydra on when 4-5-1 is working ?

Really? I never knew that.
Well none of Utd's current forwards would be missed.
Re: Matchday thread
I think this is a superb professional display all round. How any criticism can be levelled at us is beyond me.

Not read much at all recently. I got fed up of you editing my posts.
Still, if you've finally realised how good Vydra is, that's something I suppose.

Cavani on and United will change their shape. Interesting to see how this pans out and how we respond.

Re: Matchday thread
Vydra will fully understand that he has to be focused on being electric in the last 15 if we are holding them. I am pleased to see SD has packed midfield for this one... and it had to be at Vydra’s expense, it is absolutely no reflection on his performances and that will have been made perfectly clear to him.
Good half, keep ruffling them feathers Clarets, we can win this.

Re: Matchday thread
It just shows how that extra midfield man helps us both being able to press a bit higher, which we've done well so far, and not be wide open with too much space between defence and midfield ala last week.
Certainly holding our own and just need a bit of magic up top like Jay / Defour.

Where was Taylor? Dragged out of position. Terrible goal to concede that

McNeil had to pull it back

Re: Matchday thread
Great response to their goal, doesn't suggest our spirit is lacking as some have been suggesting on here.
