He's bored and trolling, that's why he's wondering.
I refuse to be bored chiefly because I am not boring. If I was boring I might have spent the last two days stuck to a football forum endlessly rehashing the same repetitive points about some silly Super League

I can’t believe this statement was made literally just before city and Chelsea pulled out.

Had we held on we could have taken one of their places in the esl!

Way its panned out makes you wonder if Mr Pace made his statement once he saw the tide was turning and that he was going to be on the winning side of the argument
I’ve no problem at all with that. Two ears and one mouth for a reason.

Quite. And if you were bored and boring you might persist with posting as silly caricature of yourself.

Sincerely,

What the new chairman had said Makes a lot of sense. Good to hear that.

Compared to the nonsense the chairman of Real Madrid came out with today saying that the only income they get is from television. Ah what a shame.
So they get nothing from match attendances, ticket sales, exhorbitantly priced football gear, hospitality, transfer fees and all the rest then.
I think real Madrid need the ESL money more than most....

ESL is basically a bailout for the greedy clubs who have overspent and driven up wages to make it totally unsustainable and are now reaping what they sow . They should be punished somehow for this in my opinion, I’m not sure how, but it’s an absolute disgrace . I love football, the concept of it and everything that goes with it, the highs, the lows, the nerves the unexpected elation, what a rollercoaster! There’s nothing like it! I just wish it was a little more of a level playing field, and I’m not sure the new reformed champions league with billions being pumped in is going to allow that. I would have been interested to see what would have happened if they left and we carried on without them.

As for Pace - I think he does get it, he’s saying the right things, and I’m hoping now that we survive relegation and throw some surprises in relating to the transfer window this summer .

An excellent statement that will go a long way to show we are in safe hands
For me there is still a long way to show we really are in good hands.

Nothing wrong with the statement or the way the new owners have conducted themselves, but the actual proof will be in the pudding during mid-season for me. Just remember they too are an American investment fund...they didn't come here because their grandparents or parents were claret supporters.

Good riddance with the ESL but still a long way to go to get football back where it should be

Are supporters really impressed with Pace’s comments? It’s not like he went out on a limb here or put himself out there with any kind of revelatory stance or position.. All he said is what literally 95% of the footballing world has been saying. He’s always been an opportunist and took full advantage of an opportunity to pander to the cool kids in an attempt to make himself look like “one of us”.

For the record, I’m not “pro” or “anti” Alan Pace, only time will tell in that regard. That said, I’ve always felt there to be a real disingenuous air about him.

When you say "he has always been on opportunist" - how long have you known him ?
