I remember Lammie Robertson playing in our Reserves. Think he played briefly for Leicester later in his career when Jock Wallace was in charge...

He did play for Leicester a few years later.

Derrick Robins lived in Jersey in the 80s, I did some work for him ,seemed a decent enough chap .

He probably was a decent enough chap if Lord didn’t like him. He later moved back into cricket and organised teams of test internationals to go on tours to the banned apartheid South Africa.

I remember talking to him about football as he had a lot of memorabilia at the house , he never mentioned Lord though.

Funny enough I worked at 2 other Coventry men’s houses
Jimmy Hill who was a proper gent and John Poynton who I think was chairman also , his wife was from Wigan and we hit it off much to his annoyance.

Probably still exhausted from the journey back from Oxford the previous day. Don't recall much from the game except for the Leighton James goal,as you say his first since October. Not much longer to go now and still in the driving seat.

I had completely forgotten this game. I must have been there, though. This has been a great series of articles. I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Thank you.

I was in my usual position at the front of the Bee Hole, I can clearly remember the pre Bob Lord Stand hoardings along the touchline and what I always remembered as an elegant finish by Dobbo for his goal. Doesn't look quite so elegant from the picture.

Dobbo never did anything that wasn’t elegant.

Yep, a totally different player than the awkward one I saw make his debut at Wolves in '67 as a centre forward.

He could play at the back and in midfield but I’ll never understand why anyone thought he was a forward.

One game where he did play centre forward I remember was the 2-1 win over Man Utd when we were down to 10 men and 1-0 down. He definitely scored the winner but did he get the first one ,too?
