Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Takes over from the start of the 21/22 season, I thought Sarri was the favourite for that gig, but Jose always seems to land on his feet doesn't he.
Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Lands on his feet because he has a history of winning silverware

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Didn't win owt at Spurs though did he, and Roma are 7th in Serie A which is roughly about where Spurs sit in the PL, so he faces a big challenge to get them challenging for the title next season, which I assume is why he's been hired.

First time in a long time that he didn't win something though, but it's almost a tradition now at spurs
Re: Mourinho in at Roma
That’s right drew a blank in his 18 months at Spurs, but has won something at every other club he’s managed.

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Bit of a disaster at Spurs but he gets jobs off his reputation of years ago.
Spent a small fortune and couldn't make the best of talented players that were already there.
Apart from Zidane is there anyone else in the world who wouldn't have started Bale?

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Must wouldn’t. He was so unfit and off the pace the first few months of the season. So much so, I saw him attempt a one two with Roman Pavlyuchenko.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 3:42 pmBit of a disaster at Spurs but he gets jobs off his reputation of years ago.

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
As usual he was spot on with his Spurs assessment. That back 4 are garbage. He didn’t buy them, he didn’t want them but Levi is in charge and he knew that when he went in.
He has also improved Kane’s game markedly. All to England’s benefit.

You only get fit by playing.
He has the best minutes per goal ratio in the premier league this year. Imagine if you got him match fit?

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Was part of the problem with Bale that he'd spent over a year playing a different sport?
When watching The Last Dance about Jordan, he went through the same switching from basketball, to baseball and back again.
He had to recondition his body for basketball and it took him 6 months I think it was.

I’d like to see him have a do at Darlington or Grimsby & win something prestigious, any bloke off the street handed something setup for success would have some sort of a fighting chance.

Yes in exactly the same way Porto & inter are very similar to the teesiders & fishmongers comeback with a like for like comparison within the respective leagues & I’ll start to take you seriously.claretcarrot93 wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:10 pmLike winning the champions league with Porto or Inter?

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
In his early days i suspect he would've had a good go at dragging a smaller club at the leagues and been successful at it.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 6:52 pmI’d like to see him have a do at Darlington or Grimsby & win something prestigious, any bloke off the street handed something setup for success would have some sort of a fighting chance.
However he's an elite manager with no need to drop down to such a level.

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
Seen RyanAir have posted the following
"Jose will be happy to know that we currently fly London to Rome from only £14.99.
Due to his lack of trophies at Spurs, we expect a carry-on bag will suffice for this trip."

I’m not questioning that, I’m simply saying there’s no way on gods greens earth could be replicate the same achievements in a different set of circumstances, I’m a pretty good chef but could I knock up the same dish using jars & tins & frozen produce than I could using fresh ingredients!?. I could try but I can guarantee it wouldn’t taste the same.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:21 pmIn his early days i suspect he would've had a good go at dragging a smaller club at the leagues and been successful at it.

So you saying league 2 managers could win all trophys Jose has won?Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:30 pmI’m not questioning that, I’m simply saying there’s no way on gods greens earth could be replicate the same achievements in a different set of circumstances, I’m a pretty good chef but could I knock up the same dish using jars & tins & frozen produce than I could using fresh ingredients!?. So would I, but I was merely pointing out his track record for winning trophies and awards!Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 6:52 pmI’d like to see him have a do at Darlington or Grimsby & win something prestigious, any bloke off the street handed something setup for success would have some sort of a fighting chance.

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
We wouldn’t know for certain unless that same opportunity was offered/afforded, I’ll call upon my crystal ball & get back to you on that 1 if I may, 1 thing we can reliably count upon more often than not if you are involved in a top club with money to spend, it’s more or less a strong likelihood that success won’t be too far behind compared to a manager scratching about in the lower divisions managing. Logically that stands to reason.claretcarrot93 wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:35 pmSo you saying league 2 managers could win all trophys Jose has won?

You don’t need a crystal ball they wouldn’t. Jose is at the top of his profession for a reason.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:43 pmWe wouldn’t know for certain unless that same opportunity was offered/afforded, I’ll call upon my crystal ball & get back to you on that 1 if I may, 1 thing we can reliably count upon more often than not if you are involved in a top club with money to spend, it’s more or less a strong likelihood that success won’t be too far behind compared to a manager scratching about in the lower divisions managing. He could do the job at Darlington & Grimsby then with the same measure of success without the financial constraints.claretcarrot93 wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:45 pmYou don’t need a crystal ball they wouldn’t. Jose is at the top of his profession for a reason.

Pep has spent a ridiculous amount of money since his last Champs league final appearance and has failed to win it since his Barca days.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:43 pmWe wouldn’t know for certain unless that same opportunity was offered/afforded, I’ll call upon my crystal ball & get back to you on that 1 if I may, 1 thing we can reliably count upon more often than not if you are involved in a top club with money to spend, it’s more or less a strong likelihood that success won’t be too far behind compared to a manager scratching about in the lower divisions managing. Genuine question, has been had an affair with someone you're close with?Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:48 pmHe could do the job at Darlington & Grimsby then with the same measure of success without the financial constraints.
You seem to have a real hard on over him tonight.

No it’s quite laughable quite the opposite actually, I can remember awhile ago when he replaced MP you was adamant he was the solution to Tottenham’s problem & your insistence was he would improve Spurs fortunes & trophies would emerge eventually as a consequence & lo & behold . I don’t give a rats a**e about JM he isn’t god to me I don’t idolise him I don’t even think he’s a decent manager, could he cut it at darlo or Grimsby without a pot to p155 In, I think we all know the answer to that question. Good evening.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 8:58 pmGenuine question, has been had an affair with someone you're close with?

He was potted just before a cup final, Spurs went in with a massively inexperienced manager and as a result didn't put up much of a fight...Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 9:23 pmNo it’s quite laughable quite the opposite actually, I can remember awhile ago when he replaced MP you was adamant he was the solution to Tottenham’s problem & your insistence was he would improve Spurs fortunes & trophies would emerge eventually as a consequence & lo & behold . The fact you don't even think he's a decent manager when he's actually one of the most decorated managers ever says more about you than anything else tbh.
He's an elite manager and will go down in history as one of the best and rightly so.

I'll give it 18 months max until he's fallen out with most of the squad and he's getting sacked again. He's a busted flush who's been left behind by the modern game.

Why would one of the worlds greatest ever managers need to prove himself at Grimsby?Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:14 pmYes in exactly the same way Porto & inter are very similar to the teesiders & fishmongers comeback with a like for like comparison within the respective leagues & I’ll start to take you seriously.
It’s like asking Bill Gates to take over at P3 computers just to prove his worth.

Re: Mourinho in at Roma
You can track the timeline of his demise and it starts at him turning up on a Sunday morning on Sky TV moaning about a sending off that involved Ashley Barnes.
