Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets
Slightly off topic, but watching the preview for the Barnsley game tonight on Sky, the summariser has said there’ll be 4,500 in at Oakwell for the game.
How can there be 4,500 at Oakwell and only 3,500 at the Turf. Is that down to differences between PL and EFL?

Down to how much of the ground can be used. We can’t use the cricket field and it looks as though half the Longside upper is out of use.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:11 pmSlightly off topic, but watching the preview for the Barnsley game tonight on Sky, the summariser has said there’ll be 4,500 in at Oakwell for the game.

I wondered why half of the blocks for the James Hargreaves upper tier weren't mentioned in the list.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 7:46 pmIs there anything else they can get wrong? Our ticket is in a block not even mentioned.
Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets
We are also in this block, James Hargreaves Upper Block 5
Does that mean we can do the usual turn up 5 minutes before kick off

Thanks Tony for advice about linking accounts.
Desperately difficult process and I consider myself very able where computing goes. This absolutely should not happen again and let’s face it, there IS a possibility that limited crowds might happen again.
It’s easier to access the Fort Knox vaults than to access Burnley v Liverpool tickets!!

So I applied with my login fir a ticket fir my son on family friends but I can’t go. Got email saying son has a ticket but when I click on the link it shows nothing. He’s set up a new account with his membership number and again when you log in it shows the game, you put in 1 ticket and it says not enough tickets?

Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets
So people are going to be sat patiently in their seats without moving for 45 minutes plus prior to kick-off?
There's no chance that's going to happen. People are bound to see other people they know, who they possibly haven't seen for 14 months, and start moving round to have a conversation, the more agile people are going to start climbing across seats up and down the rows, passing people as they do. Social distancing is going to be virtually zero!
We perhaps need a bit of pre match entertainment to keep people occupied.... maybe parachutists? Chico? Dogs in fancy pants?

NU isn't even mentioned in the list! Hope people know that the NU and NL are the James Hargreaves!

Knowing what I know about who has and hasn’t received tickets, I’m not convinced the ticket allocation was as random as was claimed.

Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets
Really? One fan who travels with us to games hasn’t missed a game home or away in well over a decade. I’d say on merit he should be up at the top of the list but he hasn’t got one. A lot of clubs have used loyalty points but it’s because ours was random that he’s missed out.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:55 pmKnowing what I know about who has and hasn’t received tickets, I’m not convinced the ticket allocation was as random as was claimed.

Well I didn’t get one. I do not want to muddy the waters - However when I went into my account to enter the ballot, my account showed that I had already entered the ballot when I hadn’t .
Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets
Has anyone had any luck claiming their tickets in the past few hours? I have been trying to sort out my allocated 2 tickets for the past few hours and keep getting this message.
I logged on earlier today, whilst at work, and it was working then but never confirmed tickets as I was waiting until I was home.

That's not how the system worked from my experience.Sean Dyche's Watch wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:54 pmQuite high, the club have advised they have tried to allocate a seat as near as possible to your season ticket seat.
I logged in at midnight last night - same stand, wrong tier and the opposite end to where I normally sit.
I looked at the seat view and found I was at pitch level - 2nd or 3rd row. Didn't confirm the ticket and went to bed.
Woke up at 6:30am and went to reserve my ticket having thought beggars couldn't be choosers and I was being offered back row of JMU. So I worked out that they clearly weren't an allocated seat for everyone but simply they were offering seats in a certain order as people were claiming them.
Thought I would take my chances and waited until later in the morning got another seat in JMU and then came back later and eventually got a cracking view in BL stand as a result. Directly opposite where I sit in the JHU but clearly not as high. Having watched a cup game and pre-season friendly from BL stand in a similar place - I knew I would get to a good experience. Much better than the 3 other seats I was offered.
I think this concludes that the system wasn't every ballot ticket had specified seat allocated nor has the club done an exercise of allocating a seat near to where the ST holder sits.

Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets and ground entry
You see it may be the case that the ticket office would only notify those successful in the ballot. As the situation unravels not everyone was informed at the same time, thereby creating further confusion.
I asked the question whether those who had been unsuccessful would be informed. It is clear to me that everybody who entered the ballot should have been told whether or not they had been successful at the same time. It is not a difficult thing to do with electronic technology.
The end result would have been far less confusion and uncertainty for fans. There has been too much of it lately anyway.

Don't know how seats were initially allocated but if you don't claim the seat offered you within 30 minutes the system removes it, hence when you then try again it offers you a different seat.clarethomer wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 9:55 pmThat's not how the system worked from my experience.

Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets and ground entry
I was offered lots of seats in the JH lower and kept restarting the process as my seat is in the JH Upper block 2. I was offered seats in block 1 of the upper more or less against the end wall..but persistence paid off and i ended up more or less in line with where i sit just a lot further back in block 2
I was never offered a seat in the middle of the stand upper or lower so this may tie in with half the stand not being open..presumably the middle sections. Perhaps this is because of the media being at the back and they need access up and down to get in and out?

Re: Liverpool game - Claiming tickets
Thanks, it would be useful to get some clarification. Depending on their seat location, it could be that some people need to arrive by 7.00pm at the latest, and some people need to arrive by 7.30pm at the latest, and if they don't, the club have advised that people are going to be turned away from the ground, which will cause issues at the turnstiles.
Also, is it 'through the turnstile' by those times, or 'at the ground' by those times?
If there was ever a need for clarification on a matter, this is it, and in my view the club have failed to provide clarity here.
If it is 'arrival windows', the club needs to say 'people with tickets in the following blocks need to be through the turnstile between 7.00pm and 7.30pm' and 'people with tickets in the following blocks need to be through the turnstile between 7.30pm and 8.00pm' - assuming there is a requirement for all fans to be in the ground at a set time, x number of minutes prior to kick off.
I wonder if anyone at the club proof reads what is about to be published on their website, from a reader's perspective? Probably not, because it doesn't affect them.

If anyone is presenting their e-ticket at the turnstile through the BFC app's ticket wallet, ensure that NFC (for mobile payments) is temporarily turned off as you go through, as the QR code may not scan.

“Those supporters attending the Burnley v Liverpool match are kindly asked to follow the following arrival times at Turf Moor.”
It’s not rocket science, yet you go off on a tangent saying people will be turned away. Do you honestly believe that people are going to be turned away if they are ten minutes late or early?!
