For me that goal us more on Taylor (who had been good up till then), Mee blocks it twice before it goes on.
Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Mee has had a poor game. His tackling and distribution have been so slow.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 3:49 pmNo matter your claret tinted specs we need to admit that Mee makes more mistakes than any other player on the team. He really needs to step up
Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
As predicted. Defend and lose lead
Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Yes, we should have tried not defending.

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Score from their first shot on target but let's be honest, we pretty much just invited them forward with chance after chance.
Seems the days of holding on to 1 goal leads are gone. We need to score more goals.

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Their equaliser wasn’t Mee’s fault. 100% down to Taylor’s slip.
Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Another 2 points thrown away. We had em on the ropes, scored then tried to defend. That’s pathetic at home. Needed to push for a second

I'm a huge Vydra fan but I've no idea what that was about from him, appalling effort and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's the last we see of him - Dyche was raging at him

Not ideal, but it's a point and we are off the mark.
We are scoring, just need to tighten up at the back.
Onwards and upwards though.

Hate to say it but we were unlucky for that goal of theirs to go in.Pope did not have a goal to save, and we were good for most of the second half. We stopped Leeds playing which takes some doing

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
A point is better than nothing, but it could and should have been 3.
2 home games now against Brighton & Leeds where we've taken the lead, and ended up with only 1 point out of a possible 6.
And that form against the lower half sides will have to drastically improve unless we're not to endure a nervy end to the campaign.

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
You need to remember it's Leeds. That's 2 disallowed goals in the last 3 games, and they get all the luck, we don't. To pick up a point against the likes of that, is actually a positive. Throw Cornet into the mix, and we'll be fine.

Should have been Cork for Barnes

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Huff, puff and rough 'em up.
Hope we can scramble a goal somewhere.
No pace, no creativity, just run, run, run & hope summat happens.
Glad I didn't pay to see that. Again.

I think with a proper right winger (Cornet), you will see a different team. We offered little down the right hand side today

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
We'll see come the end of the season, but that still doesn't detract form the fact that we can't hang onto leads anymore.
I like you wouldn't have been too down with a draw pre game, however when your leading with 4 minutes to go that has to go down as 2 points dropped.
And yet another home game where we've failed to register a win, and we do need to get this monkey off our back soon.
Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Leeds normally win games in that position. They level and then luck a win in the dying seconds.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 4:04 pmWe'll see come the end of the season, but that still doesn't detract form the fact that we can't hang onto leads anymore.

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
We didnt sit back and defend after scoring, we simply couldn't hold the ball. Please Mr Pace sign two midfielders quickly. As someone said above when JBG went off it was a mistake to bring Lennon on, should have gone for Cork to try and control midfield.

Not bad but not good. Good performance - better than a lot of our winning performances over the past couple of years but unfortunately not ended up with a win.
I can’t tell if Leeds are any good or not this season.

Same old predictable story, scoring once and waiting for the opposition to score…
Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
I'm very surprised Leeds haven't thrown another 100 million at the wall. People say they have no money, yet their owners are a hell of a lot richer than us.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 4:06 pmNot bad but not good. Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Yes that has to be a genuine concern now, normally if we hit the front you'd be reasonably confident we'd be able to see the game out, but it's becoming a recurring theme now, Newcastle last season, followed by Brighton & Leeds this, and it's a habit we need to eradicate ASAP.

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
What seems to have changed is we now throw in mistakes whereas in the past we remain solid and grind out the 1-0.
That Taylor one suddenly had us struggling. Leeds were huffing and puffing until then, and we looked comfortable. Then we have the minor mistake of a deflection not a block (Brownhill?).
I agree though it was a mistake to bring on Vydra in this particular circumstance. I would have brought on Collins for Barnes and Cork for JBG. Brownhill to go wide and stop the crosses, Collins to deal with them if they come in.

The complete refusal to play 5-4-1 will cost us over the course of the season. Lot of ageing legs in that team / squad.

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
Agree. He looked like he wasn't chasing things down which is presumably why he was brought on. He tried a fancy lay off when Dwight cut inside and played a good ball in to him. Lost possession in a dangerous position given how they play but just shrugged and waved his arms in frustration instead of chasing back.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 3:55 pmI'm a huge Vydra fan but I've no idea what that was about from him, appalling effort and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's the last we see of him - Dyche was raging at him

Re: Burnley-Leeds-match thread
All the worrying over the strengthening of the wings and centre of defence and now we are starting to look worryingly light up front. Wood apart do any of the other three offer much of a threat at this level anymore? Barnes wasn't too bad today but he offers little and more often than not these days looks clumsy. Vydra has the ability but seems to have a bit of an attitude/confidence issue and seemingly can't be relied on. Jayrod is going through a dreadful spell (given the chance)and his stats make for bad reading.
Anyone else think we are in need of something different up front?

Wrong sub met yet again. They were doubling up on our left just like Brighton did. Should have either brought Pieters on and moved McNeil inside behind wood or put Cork on.
