Positives from today…

Post by Marney&Mee » Sun Nov 28, 2021 7:58 pm

1. The unbeaten run continues
2. Spurs didn’t look like scoring
3. Looks like the new COO has sorted out the queueing issues
4. Another mistake free display by Collins

Have I missed any?

Yes, several of our resident nutjobs having a complete meltdown, their sense of entitlement severely dented, because the game was snowed off.
Fabulous stuff.

Watford lost, and they have Chelsea & City as their next 2 games.
The lads get a rest ahead of the trip to Wolves.
No further bookings.
And we know SD is a tough cookie if it was ever in doubt.

Maxwell didn't get on the next plane back to France if he'd have had to play in that..

There was a nice blue sky in Burnley a couple of hours after the scheduled kick off time.

We discovered the lack of logic apparent by some on here demanding that we should have left people sitting in freezing conditions for fck knows how long with not one jot of consideration for Spurs fans who may have been relying on public transport or just had families to go back to. As it happened it stopped snowing half hour or so after kick off time but supposing it hadn’t? How long would these bright sparks have left an 18k plus crowd sitting there freezing and bored sh!tless?

Just wondered.

The positive is that we are still one win away from pulling out of the bottom three

And Sean Dyche made the 2 good 2 bad slot as 2 good, for appearing in his shirt sleeves.

They obviously have no idea how warm the sun is in Burnley, this time of year!

We’ll see on Wednesday I suppose. Jimenez is a top top player, but they don’t possess the potency of Kane, Son & Moura. Wolves is obviously a more important fixture but less of an ask for Collins I suppose is my point. They are missing Neves through suspension too, which evens up the Westy loss a bit.

Spurs were also injury free (as were we, barring suspensions). With a long run of games though, that might change if we were to play them January time. Only time will tell I suppose.

I don’t agree I am sure Dyche would have preferred his best eleven for wolves rather than spurs. Must win game against wolves

It is a tough one, although Wolves are not going down. You get the same points for beating Spurs as you do Wolves. Wolves is more winnable but also a very tough fixture on a week night away from home. If you were to ask me which order gives us the most chance of securing the most points over the two matches I’d say it’s the one we’ve ended up with.

At the minute Spurs at home is an easier fixture than Wolves away.

We get a bit of extra rest leading up to the next two important fixtures. Also Ruben Neves is out for Wolves I believe after hitting the yellow card limit.
