January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Hi All,
I can hear the cries now, and I know very marmite, very early, and will probably not start picking up until the big fat bloke/woman/person/ delivers the socks and shower gel, but there are few rumours starting to crop up now on the message board and elsewhere so thought we can keep to this much loved/hated thread. I will start with a couple...
Angelo Fulgini

James Hill

James Hill looks like good prospect, from Fleetwood, and I sense rumours about this 20 year old centre half might have some credibility

If Santi Aouna is tweeting us and Fulgini, then our interest is nailed on.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Sell Tarks, get Hill, Fulgini and a striker/right winger in and would be a decent window.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Have we signed anybody yet?
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
The Fulling link is everywhere. Seems to have legs.
£12m.
£12m.

This is where we pin our hopes on a new stereo system only to end up with a pair of socks.

If we could get these two "over the line"(as they say) and keep Tarks until the end of the season, I reckon we would guarantee PL survival this season as an absolute minimum.
And the start of a rebuild.

The Fulling signing will 100% happen along with two more at least in January
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Are Fulling and Fulgini two different players?

No, I can see bits of it.
Truth is you can't really rebuild without knocking down the old house

I see the name of Willie McKay mentioned in dispatches in relation to the Fulgini link
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I don't know Fulgini but as per my past posts on ALK, we will be active and if the rumour is true; we will go all out for him as per Cornet. I'm told we're after three players but not necessarily all in the same window and one is a back up option.
I questioned regards Barkley and I got a kind of reaction that he was the 'back up'/'last option'.
A surprise, but very welcome name our fans would be pleased with popped up as an option to loan/buy but he asked me not to mention it. Suffice to say he is a holding, defensive midfielder. I can't say any more.

Can’t think of an attainable holding midfielder on a loan/buy. Would love one though. Along with a fast, right-footed, right winger.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Errr. No Can't get more 'homegrown' than this one.

Attainable - at a stretch. Have heard we are after an attacking midfielder, number 10 if you like also. One would be a loan to buy I hear, most likely transfer. Other I guess is Fulgini who having read his description, fits the bill of an attacking midfielder. There is another one but, well; that's at tentative early stages I guess.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Im not taking an interest in any links or rumours until Daniel James Waterhouse arrives with his concrete info, then and only then will we know its a definite!

Choudary didn't come up in conversation. Then again neither did Winks tbf. No disrespect to Fleetwood but he basically said that was a given and didn't include 'small clubs' players in his 'list'. His words not mine.

going back to Fulgini: a player who can run with the ball, at pace, something we haven't really had in centre midfield.
Not necessarily this particular player, but his type would be a great asset

Still (randomly) think we might be casting an eye over Milner whose time seems to be coming to an end at Anfield

I have said I can't tell you. My track record is quite good. I didn't give you names last time and won't this. I said there'd be a surprise signing and there was. What you didn't expect.
All I can say is he'd probably be marmite in some fans eyes but adored by others. I'll reiterate. Looking at three (not including Fleetwood guy) for January. Two midfielders definitely.

Niles, but I wouldn't describe his signing as marmite in our fan base. Marmite would be players like:
Barkley
Alli
Xhaka
Dier
Barkley
Alli

It’s odd isn’t it, subtle hints are all you can really give on some rumours or it’s likely you’ll not be told anything again.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 8:24 amProblem is some people struggle to cope with not knowing things. When they feel left out they make comments like that

My guess is Harvey Barnes, putting the Leicester/Choudary link together, along with the fact he was born in Burnley?BenWickes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:18 pmChoudary didn't come up in conversation. Thing is, I kinda sympathise with Flizabeths point here
A rumour from a source with a good track record is one thing, but we've all been Burnley fans long enough to know at least one fan who either makes stuff up or believes absolutely everything he's told
To me, thats not rumours, its just ********, and shouldn't be on this thread
BenWickes info doesn't sound like that btw

If we are interested in Fulgini it suggests we may be looking to move to more of a 4-5-1 because I can't see him working in the PL as part of a double pivot like we play now. Would imagine we'd be thinking of moving Cornet back out wide and can see Dyche implementing a quite fluid/interchangeable 3 of McNeil, Fulgini and Cornet (ie. letting/directing them to switch places) in front of a solid base of Westwood and Brownhill/Cork who would be directed to sit in a bit more than they do now.
Or maybe we just see him as a wide right player.

Whether we like it or not, we've been underinvesting in the squad for at least two seasons, and as a result we've got some pretty glaring issues if we get anymore than one injury in certain areas
Pace and Co will lose more than that if we go down and they know as well as we all do that we need both reinforcements and to move some players on
