Anyone else?

Today I have tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time in 12 months.

Hope anyone else in the same situation as me is safe and well.

. Same here, twice in 12 months. Not really ill this time round , just under the weather so to speak.

Wishing you all the very best with it. Had it terribly last Christmas but dodged it so far the second time. Currently know two people, up-to-date on jabs, who have it a second time. Hope your symptoms are very mild. Take care

Yeah I actually have had both jabs and the booster! Just unlucky I suppose. Symptoms fairly mild thus far though.

We bagged Christmas Day and Boxing Day off last year waiting for a PCR tets result after someone my wife had been in a work space with tested positive on Christmas Eve. I'd erased the memory until last week

Yes, tested positive on Saturday. I’m glad to hear your symptoms are mild. Mine are too but bored sh**less in my own room. Four days of Covid and I’ve become a jigsaw enthusiast. Never would have believed it

Waiting on PCR done this morning, all the lads I was on my Christmas do with have tested positive and I’ve been rough since yesterday, not holding out much hope!

The worst bit for me has been meal times, lunch and dinner.
I normally have a brilliant appetite as I work long hours, but meal times have become so boring. I can't wait to get back to work and become hungry so that I can savour a good meal.

Just finishing my isolation tmrw. 22 kids in our kids class got it. Omicron. Mild start then 3 really bad sleeps. Ridiculous sweating. Whole head headaches. Dry cough. Loss of taste. Really hard work this isolation malarkey.

I work in a school so lots of contact with others. I’m pretty sure that’s where I got it.

My two stepsons tested positive while visiting their dad yesterday, mum and I are clear; their father was working, he isn’t now and our Christmas changed somewhat and is now childless. A-ho ho ho

Good luck and best wishes to all that are affected at Xmas time. Isolating is plenty bad enough but at this time of year I’d imagine will be worse.

Hope you all come through it unscathed.

My isolation ends 00:00 hours on Christmas day thank god. Can open presents with the kids and get some turkey down me before work in the afternoon.
Very mild symptoms for me, a bit of a cold I would never even have thought twice about, however someone at work tested positive so did the test to be on the safe side as I'd planned to see elderly relatives with history of pneumonia over Christmas.
Missed seeing my son on his 3rd birthday yesterday, was heartbreaking listening to him singing happy birthday to himself over facetime, but I know there are people far worse off, so will more than make up for it over Christmas.

My wife's a teacher and tested positive on the Saturday after finishing on the Friday, she started symptoms on the Wedenesday prior but we'd both had our boosters on the Tuesday night and we both felt a bit crappy after that
So shes isolating until Boxing day and I'm working from home though don't have it.

Had a works meeting last Weds and Thurs including more than a few bevvies on the Wednesday eve. Had everyone lateral flow on Tuesday eve before the meet and the Thursday morning before we started the final day - all negative, then one of the team came back positive on Friday unfortunately.
I've lateral flowed every day since including Friday and so far negative, somehow. Feel absolutely fine so hope it remains the same, but I'll have been pretty fortunate if so.
I'm double jabbed and had my booster last Tuesday- which isn't time for it to have been effective.
Hope all those isolating have as enjoyable time as possible, plans for close family members have changed due to positive tests also, but guess you've just got to make the best of it.

Nope but no vaccine ever 100% stops infection.

My symptoms are a lot milder than when I had Covid in 2020.

It is the same as all other diseases, viruses etc., etc. ---if you are going to get it ---you will ---you then have to deal with it, just as you have with everything else. Not one of us is totally immune to anything!

Maybe due to it being Omicron which looks like it could be a milder version- or maybe just down to you having immunity from previous infection/vaccines. In any case- good that you aren't as ill.

I think I am becoming a recluse too, based on my 3 drives to non existent Burnley matches, which were hours spend, entirely alone in my car!

My son and his partner tested positive today but still want to come stay for 3 days at Christmas.

That would most likely infect me and my wife, both of us in our 60’s but double jabbed.

Had it very bad in March 2020. *Managed to dodge being ill again.We weren't planning on going out over Christmas anyway and we'd already stocked up on Christmas food, drink etc since October so no need to venture out apart from a dog walk.
I finish a day earlier than most at my work as I worked Sunday along with a select few others, so finish tomorrow instead of Thursday. Was being harassed to go with the work colleagues to the pub on Thursday but managed to dodge that as I finish a day earlier. Certainly not going out to the pub now.
We're all set and basically plan to self isolate regardless. We have everything we need in.

*One of my wife's colleagues was sent home yesterday and she's due another test tomorrow but my wy wage more than covers her time off if needed. She could quit altogether actually but she wants her own money.

I've recently finished my 10 days having caught it a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't much fun but I did watch some decent films to pass the time.

The Power of the Dog and Ford vs Ferrari were the picks of em. Really enjoyed Free Guy too which was very much mindless fun but what I needed that particular day as I was feeling restless and weary.

Hope everyone pulls through and still manages to enjoy Christmas.

One possible silver lining is that I was reading about double jabbed people hmthat have had covid developing extraordinary immunity as a result of vaccines and the natural immunity combined. Let's hope that is the case as it'll be a big step back towards normality if so.

Not aware of the 0.4% figure. I'm certain it will pre-date new variants especially Omicron.

Tbf, I’m waiting on a result today, if I get a negative I must fall in to that bracket, I’ve had so many contacts yet never had it yet.

Must be due to being a short arse, I’m never directly in range

My wife tested positive for antibodies way back when NHS clinicians were tested for antibodies and she had no suspicion that she'd already had covid - as we know many people get it, are asymptomatic and haven't had a positive test.

I believe Oxford University are now researching people who have had persistent exposure from the start, yet haven’t got covid, to observe whether some natural immunity exists. In my team of 30 only about 4 of us have dodged it. Back in the first wave I spent all day every day either in lifts with covid patients taking them to ICU, or faffing with their oxygen on the ward. Covid hung in the air but somehow my out of date mask gave me enough protection.

Now I’m also seeing other patients but at least once a week il be the covid nurse and spend all day in covid land
