Pope - 7 Kept us alive
Lowton - 6 Distribution better than Roberts
Collins - 6 Effort was there, becoming more threatening from set pieces
Tarkowksi 6 - Passing was excellent, but switched off for there second
Taylor 6 - Some good balls in
Lennon 4 - Rarely involved
Westwood 3 - Woeful at finding a man, set pieces have fallen off a cliff also, Cork please
Brownhill 4 - Sloppy, but made more interceptions than AW
Cornet 5 - Minus 1 for the miss
Weghorst 3 - Awful today
JayRod 5 - Kept working but nowt came off
Vydra 4 - Uninvolved
McNeil 7 - Most likely to create something

Same as the Brentford game, when the emphasis is on us to create, our lack of quality in midfield and attack is exposed.

Pope 5 - laughable kicking
Lowton 6 - couple of decent crosses and kept the ball well
Collins 5 - looked a bit Championshipy today
Tarkowski 5 - marking for the 2nd?
Taylor 6* - generally did well and will excel as an attacking full back under a new manager next season in the Champ
Lennon 3 - shouldn’t have started, miles off it
Westwood 3 - shouldn’t have started, miles off it
Brownhill 4 - +1 for some good tackling but awful on the ball
Cornet 6 - terrible miss but literally our only threat
Weghorst 5 - completely expected performance with Westwood playing
Jay 5 - struggled to have any impact

McNeil 7 - should have had an assist, looked threatening and should have started
Vydra 5 - hoofing it to his head against Hanley / Gibson… nah

Dyche 3 - Mr Predictable strikes again

Pope 7
Taylor 5
Tarkowski 6
Collins 6
Lowton 7
Lennon 4
Westwood 3 absolutely dreadful
Brownhill 3
Cornet 5
Weghorst 4
Jay 3

Mcneil 7
Vydra 3

If only we could give our Dutch international striker service like Pukki got from his midfield. To sub off Weghorst, replace him with Vydra and continue hoofing it was laughable. The changes should have been made to pass the ball and open them up.

Pope 7 no saves
Lowton 3 thought Roberts plated poor v a good opponent, he was abysmal v no opponent, couldn't cross, pass or beat 1st man
Tarks 6 easy game
Collins easy game
Taylor 6 easy game
Westwood 3 needs sacking, how he plays each week is mind boggling
Brownhill 6
Lennon 5 offered zilch
Cornet 5 sitter... that's it
Ww 5 poor again, looks injured but it's just his heading and running...
Jay 5 his biggest fan but had a stinker

Dyche 3 plated Rock bottom twice now, they average 2 goals against per game yet we have failed to even have a shot never mind scored.
Absolutely clueless how to even set up a side to play on the front foot.

Only 2 games in 4 years we have had the ball for over 50% first half, snd thst was v Norwich and WBA

That was shambolic from front to back, start to finish

How many 6 pointers is it now that he has set us up and we've not even had a shot

Norwich H
Newcastle A
Watford H
Brentford A
Norwich A

That's embarrassing stick an R next to our name now, and its purely down to Mr Dyche , NO ONE ELSE

Pope 7 some good saves and couldn’t do anything about the Goals.
Lowton 4 hopeless crossing
Collins 5 ok. Sloppy at times
Tarks 5 big come down from Everton
Taylor 6 got forward and crossed well
Lennon 5 quieter one. Didn’t get the best from the positions he found.
Westwood 4 poor. Absolutely diabolical crossing today
Brownhill 6 has to fill two positions because Westwood is nowhere
Cornet 6 Shocking miss but he cares and offers a threat compared to the other morons we have up front who wouldn’t even get in position to miss that.
Weghorst 4 NOTHING
Jay 5 tries

Pope - 7 not a lot wrong.
Lowton - 4 dreadful distribution
Taylor- 5
Tarkowski- 5
Collins - 5
Lennon - 3 played well recently but awful today.
Westwood- 3 absolutely shambolic. I read the match thread at half time and people were trying to claim he played well. That’s as bad as he’s ever been.
Brownhill - 3 marginally better than Westwood
Cornet - 4 Absolute sitter and not much else.
Rodriguez- 3 offered nothing.
Weghorst - 4 a few good touches earlier but that was it

Vydra - 3 was he playing in slippers?
McNeil - 5 one great cross but then joined in with the rest.

That really was a shambolic performance against a really poor side.
I’m struggling to remember a worse performance in recent times. Worse than West Brom at home last season.

Another absolutely disgusting and disgraceful performance which has been the norm for the best part of 2 seasons. Is it something like 14 wins in 70 now?

Westwood 3
Brownhill 3

That was the latest in a long line of utterly gutless showings against our relegation rivals. Everton is definitely the anomaly here.

We were absolutely disgraceful from start to finish. The football was predictably dire, but far from blaming Dyche for this (despite the poor selection yet again), the players have shown themselves to be the biggest bunch of bottlers we've seen represent our shirt for a while now. Pathetic from every one of them that started the game aside from Tarkowski. I hope we turn the squad over big time and lose the dross that are stealing money from our club.

Pope 5
Lowton 4

Pope 5 1 good save but has to learn how to kick
Lowton 5. Better than Roberts but stale
Collins 6
Tarks 5
Taylor 6 at least he tried
Lennon 3. Time to retire. Thanks
Brownhill 5 Good first half but awful second
Westwood 3 lost the plot
Cornet 3 can’t give more after that miss
JRod 4 not good enough
WW 3 another shocker Think we bought a pup

Vydra 4 tried hard and fell about a lot
McNeil 7 head and shoulders better than any other Burnley player. Fabulous cross to Cornet which should have won us the game

Dyche 3 back to the usual tactics
Team 4. Worst for a long long time. Made Norwich look like a football team

Pope 6 - a couple of smart saves but very poor kicking.
Lowton 5 - unlucky with his effort that was blocked in the first half.
Collins 5 - not at his best today.
Tarkowski 5 - partly at fault for both goals.
Taylor 6* - sold enough defensively and a couple of good crosses.
Lennon 5 - not in the game and should have done better when we'll positioned in the first half on a couple of occasions.
Westwood 5 - some good crossfield passes but really don't think the style he has developed works for us anymore. Another one to have a show well blocked by Gibson.
Brownhill 5 - some good challenges but the partnership with Westwood has never worked. Some very sloppy distributions, forrced a good save from Krul late on.
Cornet 5 - an occasional threat but missed a sitter and took another off Jay's head when he would almost definitely have bagged.
Weghorst 5 - provided some nuisance value but struggling at the moment.
Jay 6 - worked hard and picked up some good positions, thought his final pass/shot could have been stronger on occasions.

McNeil 6 - a breath of fresh air when he initially came on but couldnt keep his level of impact up. One of the only players to look like he really wanted it though.
Vydra 5 - not sure what he was supposed to do with the service he received. Unlucky with the header.

Another game against a side around us that we just can't put away, Norwich are a very much a bottom of the league side and with the amount of space they give you its easy to see why they have conceded so many goals this season. We had chances today but couldn't make them count. The writing has been on the wall for some time, results against these sides are what has kept us up previously, this year we have been nowhere near good enough against those around us and that's why we will be relegated with games to play.

Pope 5 how difficult is it for any grown man let alone a professional goalkeeper to swing your leg at a football and hoof it upfield?
Lowton 3 stick Bardsley in, least you'd get passion
Tarks 6 ok
Collins 6 didn't do a lot wrong
Taylor 5 put the effort in
Westwood 3 no worse than usual but his usual is a 3
Brownhill 3 gives it away so stupidly. And he must spend hours on the training ground aiming free kicks five yards above the crossbar cos he has it down to a tee
Lennon 4 got into some good positions but wasteful final ball every time
Cornet 4 people often flippantly use the expression "my grandmother could have scored that" well today it was true.
Weghorst 3 don't dislike him but has no effect whatsoever. Tactics should be play it to his feet or chest, he brings it down and lays it off to a midfielder then go from there.
Jay 4 typical performance, tries but lacking in pace

McNeil 6 should have started and that's not hindsight. Had his game on the bench which should have give him the kick up the backside needed. We needed his quality on the pitch today as aimless balls into the box were exactly what Norwich wanted.
Vydra 4 nothing to feed off to be fair

After pretty much accepting relegation before the 3 week break, it now feels like I've gone through the pain twice after the false hope the other night
But anything is possible. Look at the Everton fans posts after Wednesday. 99% of them thought that was it and they were down. Unfortunately, any hope of staying up rests with team selection and tactics. Get them right and it's still possible........

Not a display for a club trying to stay in the PL. SD's comments about Everton not being able to win a game, backfire on team. After all we have 4 wins, Everton 8, and we have been out of the bottom 3 for 28 hours this season. SD now starting to look concerned-it shows in him, and the way the team played

The Fotmob ratings make interesting reading

Nick Pope (GK) - 6/10 - Made a few good saves. Probably the only Burnley player that didn't embarrass themselves in some way.

Matt Lowton (RB) - 1/10 - Refused to get forward to support the wide players, and also refused to defend too. Useless.

Nathan Collins (CB) - 2/10 - Struggled to track Pukki and was targeted Norwich early on.

James Tarkowski (CB) - 2/10 - Didn't handle the threat of Pukki well at all.

Charlie Taylor (LB) - 1/10 - Like Lowton, just refused to get forward (or was told not to by Dyche). Played Pukki onside for the second goal.

6. Midfielders
Maxwel Cornet
Cornet was bad / Paul Harding/GettyImages
Aaron Lennon (RM) - 2/10 - Never looked capable of doing anything productive on the right flank.

Ashley Westwood (CM) - 2/10 - Not up to scratch. At all.

Josh Brownhill (CM) - 1/10 - Yeah just terrible. Not much else to say.

Maxwel Cornet (LM) - 2/10 - Probably earned himself the 'miss of the season' award today. Congrats?

7. Forwards
Pierre Lees Melou, Wout Weghorst
Weghorst was not good / Stephen Pond/GettyImages
Wout Weghorst (ST) - 1/10 - He did absolutely nothing.

Jay Rodriguez (ST) - 1/10 - Astonishingly still a Premier League footballer.

8. Substitutes
Matej Vydra - 2/10 - Not good enough.

Dwight McNeil - 4/10 - Added a bit of energy when he was introduced.
What the frig is Fotmob? Is it some children?

Another woeful performance from a team going in one direction only. The miss by Cornet just about summed up the whole season to date - we can't hit a Cow's A**e with a Banjo!

Pope 6*
Lowton 4
Tarkowski 5
Collins 4
Taylor 4
Westwood 4
Brownhill 4
Lennon 4
Cornet 4
Weghorst 4
Rodriguez 4

McNeil 5
Vydra 4

It is mind boggling how this team goes from the heights of Wednesday to the lows of today. We bought a really good technical goal scoring centre forward who has been nullified by our own coaches within the space of 10 games, he has good vision and good feet so the directive is to get him looking into the sky waiting for the ball to land near his head. History has shown that players of his build cannot jump, they have the same muscle definition as a pipe cleaner. It's a season too far but what makes it far worse is the hope!

Pope 6
Lowton 5 a player who got better each week being on the bench and then reminded us why he was there in the first place.
Taylor 6
Tarkowski 7
Collins 5
Brownhill 3 gave the ball away constantly and as for that free kick…..
Lennon 5 ineffective
Westwood 3 as per Brownhill.
Weghorst 4 totally ineffective again
Jay Rod 4 poor
Cornet 5 can’t be missing those chances.

Vydra 4 spent most of him time on the pitch off balance and falling over.
McNeil 5 one great cross

Typical Burnley performance away performance under Dyche which stretches back longer than just this season. His midfield pairing continues to be absolutely baffling and the fact we have let a team as poor as Norwich take 4 points off us and 2 clean sheets speaks volumes.

Still mathematically possible but can’t see it after today. Some big decisions to be made this summer.

Some generous marks above for what was a truly woeful display lacking in quality and, most unforgivably, heart. Norwich wanted it more, were hungrier, used the ball better, had midfielders that could pass, a centre forward who could hold it up and bring others into play and a cohesive defensive unit. We had none of that. It is genuinely terrifying that Dyche looks at that CM partnership and does nothing to rectify it.

Pope 6 - kept us in it - kicking poor again
Lowton 4 - wasted countless opportunities
Tarks 6 - at least tried a bit
Collins 5 - ok, but no Mee
Taylor 4 - all over the place
Westwood 3 - lost for words
Brownhill 3 - woeful passing
Lennon 3 - no idea how he lasted as long as he did, dealt with confortably
Cornet 4 - has to score
Wout 3 - we’re not playing to his style, I doubt we ever will, which begs the question why we signed him
Jay 4 - no quality

Vydra 4 - nothing
McNeil 6 - at least provided some impetus

Disgraceful.

Love to know how that wins us the game
If Cornet scores on 65 mins then almost certainly we would have gone on to win. Think Everton ! Goals change games

Had a good game overall and not the only one ah fault for that goal. Taylor playing him onside.

I’ll stick with a 6 thanks all the same.

Pope 6 couple of decent blocks but kicking poor as usual
Lowton 5 didn't add anything that Roberts doesn't have
Collins 6
Tarks 6 both CBs generally ok
Taylor 6 one of the only ones that tries to create something
Lennon 5 nothing happening for him today
Brownhill 5 looked lost
Westwood 3 literally terrible
Cornet 6 should have scored but one of only ones with energy
JRod 5 nowt much today
WW 4 abysmal service but he already looks to have had his confidence sucked from him

Vydra 5 gives his all
McNeil 7* positive to see him pushing forward

Pope 6

Lowton 5 - too many poor crosses from good positions
Collins 6 - decent
Tarkowski 6 - decent
Taylor 4 - we concede so many goals from his defensive play. Doesn’t stop crosses, doesn’t read danger, plays people onside too often

Lennon 5 - created nothing
Brownhill 5 - ball retention was poor
Westwood 4 - so poor in possession, and I think his legs have gone
Cornet 6 - crested some dangerous points, missed massive chance

Weghorst 3 - he may be technically better than Wood, but he’s nowhere near as effective. Lacks the physicality to play in the premier league, and I don’t think team mates trust him with the ball
Rodriguez 6 - busy. Visibly frustrated with the quality of ball from midfield on multiple occasions

Vydra 5 - busy
McNeil 6 - one moment of quality, worked hard

Full credit to everyone with the energy to post player ratings after that. Travelling to Norfolk to watch the 2nd dismal instalment this season of us pumping mindless balls at Grant Hanley’s massive head has finished me. Let the cricket season commence, let me know when the Championship fixtures are out for 22/23.

Pope - 7 - two good saves

Lowton - 4. The debate was Roberts > Lowton. We now (incredibly) need to add Bardsley back in to that equation
Tarks - 7
Collins - 6
Taylor - 6

Lennon - 4. Has done far better than expected but not today
Westwood - 4 - nowhere near
Brownhill - 3 - gave the ball away time and again and that he stayed on says as much about the bench as it does about him.
Cornet - 4 - way too pedestrian when in possession and simply has to score that chance

J-Rod - 4 - never got into it
WW - 3. I know we're not playing to his strengths but he's carrying a similar goal-threat as Gifton Noel-Williams and has the record to prove it.

McNeil - 7 - game changed when he came on. Provided some energy and some service.
Vydra - 4 - didn't play to his strengths either.

We looked like a team that thought it had got the job done on Weds. But after that half-ass display we're right back in trouble. I think Dyche wants to try and keep a settled side but there's so many poor performers.

We're the only team who haven't scored vs Norwich (in 2 games) and they'd conceded 63 goals. That's a damning statistic. It's a relegation statistic.

We're still in it but we really are running out of games and we can only catch Everton.

Replacing Roberts with Lowton today was like proudly proclaiming you’re giving Iceland a miss and going to Lidl instead.

Disgraceful inept embarrassment of a performance. What the hell does Dyche do all week.

Pope 6
Lowton 5
Collins 5
Taylor 5
Lennon 4
Brownhill 3 should be nowhere near the PL won’t be soon
Westwood 3 as above. Why was he picked again Dyche ?
Cornet 5 what a miss
Weghorst 3 garbage
JRod 4

Vydra 5
McNeil 6

The Management Team 0

Shocking sh*t show of a performance. Dead rubbers from now to the end of the season.

From tv

Pope 7 I expect him to be in the PL next season

Lowton 5
Collins 7 a small ray of hope for next season
Tarks 6 interesting to see where he ends up next season
Taylor 6
Lennon 3 Get rid quickly
Westwood 3 I feel sorry for people who have bought season tickets and have to watch him next season
Brownhill 4 a couple of decent tackles in the first half, then nothing
Cornet 5 one off for the miss
Jayrod 6 tried, but not a lot happening
Weghorst 5 we sbould have bought someone a foot taller, so we could knock higher balls towards him.
Vydra 5 he fell over
McNeil 6 a couple of bits of skill, then he strarted sulking again
Barnes 3 will he tear the championship apart?

Cork 7 he was better on the bench than most of those on the pitch

Pope 6 Good stopnwith his feet.
Lowton 4 Poor decision making, poor quality and oartbof a defence that looked all at sea.
Tarks 5 Didn't cover himself in glory for their 2nd but did have a bit of fight and some good moments.
Collins 4 Looked really cumbersome and hesitant today. Another good player beginning to spoil in our current side.
Taylor 4 Powerful running forwards with the ball but crossing lacked quality and his defensive work was pathetic.
Westwood 3 A senior player like him should realise the no look pass isn't working and change it up a bit. Shocking.
Brownhill 3 Not only giving the ball away far too often with his awful passing but he's doing it quite consistently whilst trying to play easy sideways passes. Awful.
Lennon 4 Didn't influence the game at all. Shamegul to leave a player of Dwight ability on the bench so long whilst Lennon was having this performance.
Cornet 4 Would be a much better player if he stopped falling over. I think he missed that chance as he was concerned about running into the post - still miss of the season though. He arguably got in the way of a good chance for Jay when they clashed heads.
Weghorst 4 First half we knocked it about but he didn't show for the ball nearly enough. Didn't even look arsed coming off.
Jay 4 Was bullied into putting in a bit of a nothing performance to be honest. As a local lad he's the one that could and should have been demanding more from his team mates but I didn't see any of it if he was.

Vydra 4 We didn't do him any favours but had no positive impact on the game at all.
Dwight 7 Best player on the pitch whilst he was on.

I think dande's scores are pretty much spot on although I might give Pope a 7 - kept us in it with a couple of really good saves and Brownhill is a 4 - he was slow out to close for the first goal (however lucky the deflection was)

We have given both Everton and Leeds two chances to kick away from us again after some hard work to pull them in. And there have been coubtless opportunities to get out of the bottom 3 which we have spurned. It's criminal that we have struggled when it really counts. We are a team of bottlers and I never thought I would say that.

It's making me wonder if potting Dyche ought to happen because I think the mentality starts at the top. Somethings not right we've had enough chances to claw our way out of the hole but every time we've let go and slipped back in.
