Re: Mowbray in press conference
Looks like he is off out of it.I think he split opinion with their fans. Never seemed to have consistent team selection or way of playing. However to just leave him in the dark about his contract shows disrespect from the owners. I hope to god they don’t offer Dyche millions to go there!

Re: Mowbray in press conference
Fingers crossed for a good appointment (in th emould of Coyle or Berg or Kean) down the road.
Going by previous appointments they chanced upon Moybray. Let's hope for a return to form for the Venkys.

Maybe Coyle to completely finish what he started. Mowbray has been there for some time, he replaced Coyle.

I'll be mortified if Dyche ends up there but it's good news that Mowbray is going.

Re: Mowbray in press conference
No chance that Dyche goes there
I think Mowbray has actually done quite a good job, but he has been backed, and they look like they are going to fail to make the play offs again

Seems an odd thing to say on the eve of a weekend when they're still in with a chance (albeit pretty small) of making the playoffs.

Dyche will go to a much bigger club than Rovers , Accrington for instance.

Mowbray has a face only a mother could love.
Re: Mowbray in press conference
Mark Warburton is leaving QPR too after saying almost exactly the same thing in his press conference.

Re: Mowbray in press conference
I like Mowbray as a manager and a person, so the sooner he's out of that club, the better. To have them even challenging for playoffs with that squad, regardless of where they were earlier in the season, is some achievement. Hopefully another Steve Kean-esque experiment is in the offing.

Re: Mowbray in press conference
Of all the potential openings for Dyche - assuming he is looking for a swift return - QPR would be a really good fit - turning them into genuine promotion contenders would be more evolution than revolution - especially following in the footsteps of his friend Marc Warburton

Why do I need to meet him? I liked Sean Dyche as a person, yet I've never met him, but I liked the way he conducted himself in interviews and with staff.
Any more comments smartarse?

So after winning 4-1 at Preston he will be packed off on his bike. I actually thought he did more than a fair job but nothing in football surprises me now.
Re: Mowbray in press conference
Based on his press conference comments, it sounds like the club announced that afterwards:ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 10:40 pmThere is a difference. QPR had told him and announced it.

"I've had no comments at all about next season so I am sure you can take from that what you will," Warburton told BBC Radio London earlier on Thursday.
"I think if that [staying] was the case, communication about contract talks would already have been held.
"I don't expect to be here [next season] but I will do the job to the best I can from here and see what happens after that."

Re: Mowbray in press conference
Tony Mowbray is well respected within the profession and he’s certainly steadied the ship at Blackburn, an incredible job to be fair. He's just got on with it. You don’t hear the noise from the Venkys Out mob anymore other than some disgruntled opinions about what happens on the pitch… which you get at every club.
Not good that they haven’t kept him in the loop about his future there.

Mowbray is a good manager who certainly did a good job at the barstewards.
No need to slag him off just because he got offered a job there.

Mowbray wins his next 2 games then he almost certainly gets 2 more games in the playoffs.
From there anything can happen.
Hard to see them potting him if the unthinkable happened.

Their training facilities are dated now, their pitch at Ewood is a cabbage patch when the weather is bad.
That's before you get to their horrific wage bill which is about 160% of income.
Venkys would have to offer him what he was on here I think to have any real chance of getting him.

Re: Mowbray in press conference
It's harsh on Mowbray. I think 4 out of the 6 clubs in the top 6 of the Championship are still receiving parachute money. Forest are a big club and only Luton are the wild card.
Rover's are leveraged to the hilt. Even billionaires must get weary of throwing £20 million at a football club every season so I guess there is an air of desperation about achieving the Premiership.
I suspect Mowbray's contract would have been dealt with long before Dyche was available.
I can't see the Venky's having the foresight and expertise to build a long term proposition with someone like Dyche at the helm.
I think QPR would be a good fit for Dyche and re-connect with Hoos, Austin, Gray and Hendrick .

Every reason above to slag him off until he leaves and undertakes a pilgrimage of penitence for his sins.

If Sheffield Utd get four points from their last two, they'll grab the last playoff spot.
Here's hoping...

Widely accepted that if Forest don't go up this season there will be a fire sale of players because their wage bill is too high, they've got debts of £40 million etc.

Rovers are operating at a trading loss of around £390k per week at present, it's only the constant issuing of share capital that's keeping Rovers cashflow afloat ...
