Doesn't mean we'll find out anything. Doubt we will. It will probably just be an informal chat.

A wine cooler? A man of his means should have a wine cellar, not a spare fridge with a glass door!!

Sean I’m sure is subject to a non disclosure agreement to ensure he receives all his payoff. Not sure there will be anything meaningful from him.

Hopefully he’s said nothing that grabs a load of negative headlines on the eve of a huge week for the club.

That is my concern too, in much the same way the accounts being filed overtook a lot of the discussion prior to the Villa game (doubt it had an effect as such on the match itself, but it was certainly the chief talking point in the press prior to the game) it feels a bad time to do this, for us.agreenwood wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 6:25 amHopefully he’s said nothing that grabs a load of negative headlines on the eve of a huge week for the club.

I guess it depends how well the break up went between Dyche and Pace.jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 8:57 amThat is my concern too, in much the same way the accounts being filed overtook a lot of the discussion prior to the Villa game (doubt it had an effect as such on the match itself, but it was certainly the chief talking point in the press prior to the game) it feels a bad time to do this, for us.
If it went well I can’t see Dyche saying anything that could potentially hurt the club in the media.

We won't glean anything new. Dyche will keep his own counsel, regardless of any NDA.

In all his time at Burnley I don’t think he has ever spoken out of turn. Always utterly respectful, I’d even go as far as to say he’s a man of integrity.

He had a number of digs at the club/board regarding his perceived lack of backing in the transfer market. I would doubt we will glean too much that is not already known or assumed, unless he wants to regale us with tales of back stage antics at the Clone Roses gig......

Yes I forgot about that. Still he’s been generally well behaved. Re: Dyche gives first interview after Burnley
For a man who spoke about wanting the right characters, the whole exercise with writing down the "bad eggs" on bits of paper and the whole togetherness environment, to hear him say that a third of the squad were happy he was leaving is evidence enough he'd lost a big part of the dressing room.

Well no, and quoting that bit without the other bits is a bit offConroy92 wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 2:43 pmFor a man who spoke about wanting the right characters, the whole exercise with writing down the "bad eggs" on bits of paper and the whole togetherness environment, to hear him say that a third of the squad were happy he was leaving is evidence enough he'd lost a big part of the dressing room.

That is exactly what I would have expected Sean to say. He is a very honest man and I personally was very sad to see him go. However his time had come and it was time for a change..

Re: Dyche gives first interview after Burnley
He wasn't saying he'd lost a third of the squad he was saying that as a leader a third will be loyal, a third indifferent and a third glad to see you go.
That's just the nature of life.
He's owned the fact that the squad may have lost its edge and acknowledged there was a bounce when he left.
Not sure what else he could say. If you get asked a question you have to answer it the best way you can. You can't say everyone was devastated or the bounce won't last and the real reason is the dsquad wasn't good enough - you have to say whatever is appropriate at the time.
Great man Sean Dyche - his problem was a lack of investment and all the other problems flowed from that....!
Anyway he's gone and saying the right things and so should we...!
Sean Dyche - Burnley legend...!

Re: Dyche gives first interview after Burnley
I have just read the transcription on Lancs Live, and unless they omitted it, I am struggling to find the paragraph on his night out with Big Dunc?
Joking aside, it's as I thought originally - there was no hidden story here, Pace wanted to change it and that's that. Dyche comes across as he always has done, respectful, to the point and honest. The comments about the squad are probably truthful for all managers in times of struggle - there will always be an element wanting rid (we could probably sit and guess a third of the squad that fits in that camp) and an element sad/indifferent etc. That's just the way it is, same as you leave any job.
The timing is odd (as Dyche says), and always will be - even if we stay up. It was a bizarre point to do it all things considered, but could yet be the catalyst for survival - something I never thought possible, which I'll hold my hands up to. It would be great one day to hear Pace's thought process around that being the specific moment to make the change (had he been agonising over it since November/December? Was it specifically the Norwich game?).

I’ve not heard the interview as yet, but I was surprised to see people think he’d be anything but respectful or say something that might take the focus away from the next few games.
Surely we’ve all seen enough from him over the years to know that he’d be far more professional than that.

Re: Dyche gives first interview after Burnley
One point that sticks out for me that i don't and didn't understand, and Sean says similar, is that if it was down to results and the Norwich defeat in particular, why wait until the following Friday? Only read the summary in the local press site but nothing there really that surprises me.
