Interesting he's referred to Friend's smugness after reviewing the monitor. Tosser.

Perfect timing by Barnes. Ferguson, Klopp et al have been up to these tricks for years

Re: Ash B., “refs want us relegated”
I'd go with clever if he's planted the idea that the officials are showing what might generously be called unconscious bias
We can point to two marginal decisions in the last two games which have gone against us - both away from home too
Anything that gives us an edge tomorrow

Re: Ash B., “refs want us relegated”
This certainly wouldn't have got into the media when Dyche was in charge.
It's easy to sympathise with Barnes given the decision that went against him at Spurs and then for him to witness virtually the same thing go unpunished in front of his own eyes at Villa.
But will speaking to the press do in this manner do us any favours? The BBC are already using his comments to try and paint us as some kind of dirty side:
No mention, either, that one of those reds is currently being appealed and widely accepted to be extremely harsh.
But that's what happens when clubs like ourselves speak out in this manner.

You wouldn't imagine that we're actually the record-breaking side who went almost 3 complete seasons in a row without picking up a single red card would you? The previous record which had stood for almost three decades when the rules where a lot less stringent on red cards.BBC Article wrote:"Burnley have had 67 yellow cards in the Premier League this season, the seventh most, plus two red cards."

Apparently he was lucky not to be sent off against Villa.

I'm not sure it's the wisest thing to have done.
Kick one Premier League ref and they all limp.

Re: Ash B., “refs want us relegated”
For Barnes to have said this in an interview suggests that the team feel there is bias against them. It could have a negative effect on the team, but equally if channeled correctly be a driving force to success.

The BBC not letting facts get in the way of their own agenda? Never!Rowls wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 4:30 pmThis certainly wouldn't have got into the media when Dyche was in charge.

Re: Ash B., “refs want us relegated”
Some of our friends on here have been saying for days there is no bias.
Seems like the players, not just I, disagree.
We ain’t going to get any favours tomorrow anyway. So a bit of focus on these refs can’t hurt. I actually think we have had some good decisions at home recently with obvious dives not given (since, not including, those cheats from Everton, the one who dives like Tom Daley and the one who they should never have been allowed to sign in the first place due to their losses).
