I like Collins but we should absolutely snap Wolves’ hands off at £40m.

We should get up first, add £50+m in revenue, then sell him for £50m like Ben White went for.

Bid for Scott Twine according to Alan Nixon.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Nixon linking us with Scott Twine from MK Dons for £4m
‘ Burnley are making a shock £4 million move for MK Dons magician Scott Twine.
Vincent Kompany’s club are in the hunt for Twine and are battling Hull City and another late rival for his signature.
Twine will be sold by MK Dons who are already looking for his replacement as they anticipate the cheque.
Hull we’re hopeful of clinching a deal but Burnley may be more appealing. However both are conscious of a very late interest that could top their offers.’

I think Twine would be a very exciting signing. He had a fantastic season for MK Dons and is still only 22. 20 goals and 13 assists for a winger is brilliant.

Would be an excellent signing. Fingers crossed.

I'm liking the sorts of players we're being linked with so far. Hopefully some of them come off and we'll be happy with the squad in September.

What I really like about Twine is his ability to consistently score goals from range. In a possession dominant system it could be something that makes the difference in a few games where we're struggling to break an opponent down, something that will inevitably happen to any side looking to dominate possession.

He’s excellent at free kicks, seemed to score from every one I saw him take.
I can’t speak for his all round game, but there’s a lot to work with and set piece ability is transferable whatever the level as a minimum. I’d be delighted with that.

Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
League One players of the right age and profile is different to simply ‘League One Players’
I’ll judge our business at the close of the window (and I absolutely want and do expect a few ‘proven’ players in too, like Jed Wallace) but I think this is an exciting signing, should we get him.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Expectations have lowered because the division in which we'll play our football has lowered.
You'll need to recalibrate as well at some point or you'll spend the summer being miserable.

Like the links to all these early 20s players like Twine, Harwood-Bellis and Mandela Keita. Makes a change from 30 year old English journeymen.

Loose link on Twitter with Cas Odenthal from NEC Nijmegen. 21 year old centre half.
Can’t work out if he’s on a free or not.

We seem to be getting a lot of rumours regarding European players, but won't there be work permit problems?

Don't really know much about Twine to be honest. I haven't watched lower league footy, play offs a side, for a while. What position he play?

I wonder why Nixon thinks it's a 'shock'
Has he missed the bit where we are a little short in player numbers and that our new long term plan is to recruit young, upcoming talent?

Attacking midfielder from what I know. Although hard to tell on video because all of them seem to be of him banging in free kicks. I’m delighted we’ve been linked and, as Mattster says, in a team which should expect to have a fair amount of possession next season, could be vital in breaking down stubborn defences.

Ignoring lower league signings preciously has coat us. Vardy,Watkins, Toney ,Bowen were all players we could have signed but for our poor recruitment and failure to take a punt on potential in rising stars

Always amazes me how people seem to know the ins and outs of all these linked players. How do you have the time to watch all this football? I barely get 2 hours a day to myself!

You don’t need to watch every match nowadays given the availability of the internet to do research, look at data, watch clips, see opinions of other team fans etc.

“The chance that Amir Murillo will start the competition in Anderlecht's shirt is getting smaller and smaller.
It was already clear that Anderlecht would not stop Amir Murillo from taking the next step in his career.
According to sources from his home country of Panama, Murillo has to make decisions. Valencia and Rayo Vallecano are interested, but Vincent Kompany is also pulling at his sleeve.
The defender is 26. According to Transfermarkt, his value is currently at 3.5 million euros. That is slightly less than the 4 million Anderlecht paid for him.”

Bit late to this one but Scott Twine is a genuine top signing and exactly the type of player we should be after.
I think even I might start getting excited if the likes of him comes in. (Especially if we keep McNeil).

Nice to see this thread get back on topic with regard to Scott Twine. This isn't some third-string player. 20 goals and 13 assists in a season is not to be sniffed at. He's clearly very good at his craft. I just hope we're not having the wool pulled over our eyes by some fake journalist a la Brad Jones.
