Nixon defo hinting that he's using both clubs to up his wages (which is fair enough btw)

Nixon hinting in other tweets that Wallace hasn’t turned his back on Burnley yet, trying to get the best deal possible. We’ll see.

Disbelieve if that's oklouieollie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 2:35 pmHad this from someone very well connected at Don's
In between Harry Darlings medical and him signing for Swansea Vincent Kompany called him personally and offered him a contract. Burnley money was way off Swansea so he went there.
Believe or disbelieve just passing it on .....

How confusing. You read something on here about a transfer source, then go across to the one thread with no financial discussion and different updates are given.

Bruce joined them in February, after the window, and was lumbered with Robinson and Grant, two very average players for me, until he got Carroll in. This season with his own additions it’ll be a different story.

We have a lot of targets to bring in, we can't just keep raising wages and fees.

I personally see him fitting in on the wing and coming in narrow as per how Kompany played them in Anderlecht.
I suspect he could be quite successful in that role

Bad day if Bale ends up at Cardiff and Wallace at WBA. I think Wallace/Swift will prove to be very good signings for them.

As I said believe or disbelieve i won't lose sleep over it , I just passed it on because I found it very interesting especially as it was in response to me asking about if we are indeed in the running for Scott Twine

It could be a long summer for some on here, when players linked go elsewhere, it's very difficult to get a doctors appointment nowadays...

Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I disagree. Recent dealings with players and clubs indicate that we (Burnley) attach a value to a player. We work out what we believe they are worth and offer to pay the fee and then we discuss wages. If he wants more, or someone else offers more, that means he won’t come here. I don’t believe it means we can’t afford him or that we are in dire financial circumstances.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 4:37 pmIf we are being beaten by Swansea for wages then we are in much worse trouble than anyone has guessed at so far

Makes sense to me (if there is any truth in it) that Swansea are offering more than we think he's worth rather than what we can afford.bobinho wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 5:06 pmI disagree. It was reported this morning that our bids for McNally have been rejected and we’re “moving on” to other targets, or working down a list. My point was that news might tie in with with a (late) move for Darling.

Thinking about it Darlings former manager at MK is at Swansea so maybe that had more of a draw than the money !. But I 100% trust the source as I worked with him at the Don's .

It does, Keith Treacy talked about it on a podcast, he completed his medical at Barnsley with the intention to sit and wait for a better offer from elsewhere on his agents advice.

Heard that from someone else on a podcast can’t remember who, was about to sign for one team when another came in for him and too the anger of the team who had conducted his medical all the information from a medical belongs to the player not the club, so the team who nipped in at the last minute had all the information they needed without having to do their own medical. Naughty but it can happen.

I suppose it was a balancing act for Nick, a club small enough to get a regular game, big enough to be noticed for England.

I think with Hennessey, we have a decent Championship standard goalkeeper. Wise to cash in I think.

Re: Pope
Nick Pope is moving on ... he has 1 year on his Contract ... he is involved in the England set up ... he needs Premier League Football ...
Good Luck Nick in the future you have been a helluva keeper for us over the past 6 years ... possibly the most gifted saver of worldies (as seen v Liverpool when we got that 1-1 draw) ... but the worst kick ever as seen game in game out ...
Thank you Nick for everything and I hope you get all you are looking for.

I wish Nick Pope every success in his move to Newcastle and thank him for all he's done with Burnley. He's too good to be playing at Championship level.
I saw Nick Pope for the first time when he was Charlton's goalkeeper when we won the Championship. I thought for a time in that game he was going to frustrate our forwards with his performance and we would be lucky to score.

We had four shots on target that game and scored 3. One after 20 mins against the run of play.

Read a few online stories coming out of City and the way its being worded looks like the Harwood-Bellis deal is a permanent one not a loan and it could be completed by Friday
